Kay raised a brow as she so often did when she was around him. She hated killing and so far has kept her blood innocence. Already she didn't like that amulet, but now was not the time to discuss it.

"Yes....we should go. The sooner we get this done, the better." Kay retook the lead as she retraced their steps out of the mine. She looked up above the entrance. "I think that if we use our sabers to cut the rocks, we should be able to seal off the entrance."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Yeah I agree that should seal it." He ignites his blade and begins to cut the rocks down. With both of them working the pile of rocks was almost waist high when the amulet glowed red again.

The hum of the lightsabers and sounds of the rocks tumbling down, the Mayor and few men were able to sneak up behind them. "Stop!" He shouted. Hawk glances over his shoulder. He stops and slowly turns around to face them.

The men had blaster pointed at them. They were set to kill.

She worked with him, doing what she could to help seal the mine. Everything seemed to be working perfectly. That is until she had heard the Mayor shouting behind them. It gave her a bit of a start. As Hawk turned, so too did Kay. "You can't keep doing what you're doing. Don't you see that you're destroying your city and killing off your taxpayers. This is costing you much more money than you will have gained from the gems." Hopefully greed hadn't fully taken over and that the Mayor saw the logic in what she was saying.

The Mayor laughed in Kay's face. "I don't care about the people or the town. I will have enough money to buy a whole new planet." The Mayor saw a sparkle of gold in Hawk open jacket. "What is that? Try to take smuggling some of my gems." He goes to Hawk.

"Don't touch it." Hawk tells the Mayor. The Mayor ignores the warning and removes the amulet from Hawk's jacket. "How beau...." Was the last thing he said before he drops dead. The amulet rolls out the late Mayor's hand.

The guards fires shots at Hawk. One shot hits him in the chest. He collapse to the ground next to the fallen Mayor. Hawk reaches out to the amulet. Praying that it would turn from the angel of death to the angel of light and heal him.

Kay drew her blaster when the Mayor approached, but he was too busy looking at Hawk's amulet. And then he was dead....gone.

The shot to Hawk's chest got her to spring into action. Still set to stun, she fired her blaster at the few men remaining. At close range, it was difficult to miss. Each shot found their marks and all of them fell unconcious.

Kay was the only one left standing. She dropped her blaster and knelt by Hawk. "Hang on...just hang on." She placed her hand over his burn and closed her eyes, tapping into the Force so that she could use it in the way that she had practiced a lot in, which was healing. She eased the temperature in the area around the wound and began to repair the cells. It wasn't an easy feat but she had to act fast.

"Amulet..Kay." He whispers. He knew it would heal him. His fingers touch the amulet. It changes quickly from red to green healing color. It power assisted Kay in healing him.

His breathing was easier now. He was fortunate that the amulet saw him as friend not an enemy.

Kay opened her eyes as he spoke and raised a brow. What was it with that amulet? She removed her hand and sat back, waiting until he was good enough to provide an explanation. At least he was still alive. That was the important thing. And their mission was a success. But still. She glanced over to unconscious bodies of the Mayor's men and wondered what would become of them.

Slowly he sits up. He open his chard shirt. He expected to see a scar but there was nothing. Not even a scratched. He was fully healed. "Thank you." He says to Kay and amulet. He takes the amulet in his hand. It was in it neutral or sleeping stage now.

He tucks back in his jacket. "We should get going before they wake up. Probably best to get off planet." He stands and brushes the dirt off his pants.

Kay got to her feet and nodded. "Yes, we should." She draped her satchel over her shoulder and then headed back towards the town. "And while we are in space, you can tell me all about that amulet of yours...." He better tell her. For the thing while sometimes helpful was also VERY dangerous.

"You got yourself a deal." He says as they walk back to town. "My ship, Kamikaze, is in the docking bay.. Hopeful it is still in one piece. It not as luxurious as you are use to Miss CEO." He playfully shoves her in the shoulder.

The docking bay looms ahead of them. "At least the building is still there."

Kay smirked. "That's Miss COO, to you. But don't worry. I don't exactly live the life of luxury. Even though my boss wants the red carpet to be rolled out anywhere I go, I just don't feel the need for it. I'm still the same person, I just have a high paying job, that's all."

Her guards ran over to them as soon as they were in sight of the building. She assured them that all was well and that if they liked, they could follow them on her ship, while she stayed with her friend so that she could find out about this amulet of his and how he got it. And maybe more importantly, how to get rid of it. But that all depended on if it was a bad thing or not. Maybe his fellow Jedi had other ideas on it. Who knows?

The YT-1300 Corellian ship, Kamikaze, sat in the middle of the docking area. He breathed a sigh of relief. It was still in one piece. Kay's guards checked the ship out. It was deem space worth to take someone as important as Kay.

"Glad to hear it. " he comment to the guards before going up the ramp. He gives the ship a loving stroke before walk in and heading to the cockpit. He sits down in the cockpit and begins the preflight sequences.

Kay just rolled her eyes as her guards thought the ship was 'suitable enough for her'. Oh this red carpet stuff was annoying at times. However once she was finally allowed to go on board, she stepped inside and sat down in the co-pilot's seat.

"Where to now?"

Finishing with his preflight check list, Hawk look at Kay as he thinks about her question. "Not sure. I can take you to Voss to meet Maddie or where ever you like,". He was fine with either choice. "Lady choice."

Kay tilted her head to the side a bit while she thought about it. "Well, you told Maddie that you were going to see her as soon as you could, so let's go there. Then I could head out again later after a little visit." She buckled herself in and placed her satchel on her lap.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"All right. Let's go home." He says with a grin. Kamikaze lifts off gracefully from the docking bay and heads towards space. From up here the damage from the quakes was devastating. "Look at that. From up here you can tell where the mine was by destruction radius. Everything within a 200 mile had damage. Wow."

He shifts in his seat and sets the coordinates for Voss in the navigation computer. He waits for the ship to make the calculation before making the jump to hyperspace.

Once they were safely in hyperspace and heading home, Hawk stretches in his seat to work out some clinks in his back. "Glad to be going home. Maddie doesn't know about the amulet. So please don't mention it,"

As Hawk began to relax, so did she. Once again she was flying from Bakura with her guards following in their ship.

With his request, she raised a brow. "You'll have to tell me more about this amulet, and I mean everything. It doesn't feel like it's a good thing."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Ok. I tell you everything I know," he told her how he had visions of previous people held the amulet and how it ended for them. Most of them died because of it. "I want to find it and destroyed before any Sith found it, I tracked it down to Dagaboh but I was too late. Nate, my once Jedi Master father had found and took it, I never thought that I would find again."

He pauses in his story. His father was always a sore spot for him. "Anyways, I gave up on it. Didn't have anymore visions about for a few months..until I went to sleep one night. I had this vision of Mando with it on Nar Shaddaa. So I went there to find him. It was Nate in disguise. My girlfriend [member="Leilani Paaie"] somehow convinced Nate to give it to us." He still wasn't sure how she did that.

"He warned me that it was evil and should be destroyed."

Kay nodded as she listened. The whole thing didn't sound good, other than him destroying it.

"Well have you tried getting rid of it? Why not just take it to the Maw Cluster, and then fire it into a black hole? That'll destroy it."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Hawk pulled the amulet out of his jacket and was caressing it, "No, I haven't tried it, I want to understand it before I do something that drastic. I am beginning to understand it. It isn't evil. The device itself. It's depends on the user. Since it been with me, I've seen it do more good than bad."

The amulet made a humming almost purring noise as Hawk caress it.
