She closed her eyes briefly. Looks like neither of them will get what they wanted. Kay helped him lay back down and had some water brought to him to drink. No pouring it over his head this time. She glanced down to her boots which were still covered in Hawk's breakfast. "You owe me a new pair of boots....This should make for an interesting story for Maddie."

Hawk allows Kay to help him laid back down. He felt bad. He wanted to help. He sips on the water. He glances at Kay's boots. He smirks. "I shouldn't have such a big breakfast." He jokes. "This will be Maddie favorite story. Daddy almost dies than throws up on her boots to thank her."

Kay smirks and then laughs at him. "And only because you ate enough to feed a Wookie and then decided to play hero." She was sure that Maddie would grow up to idolize her father, as most girls do. "Just rest and try not to throw up the water. I can't let you sleep for at least six hours. We have to make sure that you'll wake up again."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Six hours?" He says trying not to whine. He knew he was lucky that Kay was here to heal him. "Ok. I'll be good." He says. He place the water down next to him on the cot. "Go help people." He says waving Kay away. "I'll call if I need anything."

Kay raised a brow. "Do you think that I'm going to fall for that trick? You know that I'll be too absorbed in healing to keep an eye on you."

Hmmm. She chewed the inside of her cheek as she pondered. "I could always get one of my guards to babysit you...."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"What? I dont need a babysitter. I will be fine. Really? Ok." The last thing he needed was a guard babysitting him. "They need to watch you. You are always getting into trouble."

She laughed and laughed. "Says the one that can't get out of the stretcher without fainting. You're the one getting yourself into trouble. Not me." She stuck her tongue out at him, just like a sister would.

Hawk laughs at Kay sticking out her tongue at him. She could be just as annoying as his twin sister [member="Samantha Solo"] . "Very funny. You made your point. I will stay put and get better."

The little girl who's kitty he recuse came over to them. "Thank you Mister." She gave him a kiss on his cheek. "Fluffy likes you too."

She smirked and nodded in approval before exiting the tent. She had plenty of others that needed her help and so Kay set out to do it.

In the hours that passed she dealt with many broken bones, deep cuts and bruises. If only there was a large supply of bacta tanks. After a dozen tents were gone through, Kay rejoined Hawk in his tent, checking in on him. She felt like collapsing into s chair and going to sleep, but there was still work to do.

"How're you feeling?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

While Kay was gone tending to other patients, Hawk got to know the little girl and Fluffy better. The little girl name was Beth. She was three year old and it was her house that got destroyed. She didn't know if her parents were alive. Hawk promised that they would help her. He felt responsible for her.

Beth and the kitten were sleeping in a cot next to him. "I'm feeling better. I even had a little soup." He was careful what he was eating. He didn't want to get sick again.

"How are you doing?"

"I'm tired, but there's still a lot to do. You had some soup, did you? That's good. You'll need to regain your strength." She sat down on the edge of his stretcher. "Maybe I should have some too." Yes, that was a terrific idea. She needed her strength too, and what good was her advice if she wasn't willing to follow it herself? "Fortunately, there isn't very many casualties. Just so long as these aftershocks die down. We have to figure out what's causing it. This isn't normal for this area."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Yes, you should have some. It is pretty good. I'm going to try the vegetable drewback next time." He takes a small sip of water. "I agree. The aftershock are not lose strength according to the scientists. We also have to help Beth find her family. It was her home that got destroyed," he says in a low whisper to Kay. He didn't want to wake her up. Fluffy yawns and jumps onto Hawk bed. She rubs herself against Kay.

Kay stroked the animal. Funny how she's never had a pet before, not even a droid to help her out. She was fond of both, but they would be easy targets for her enemies, so she steered clear of them.

She asked for some of the soup and minutes later it arrived, so she ate it quietly as she thought about the quakes. "When you're ready, you can take her through the tents and see if she knows anyone. Meanwhile I'll find the city officials and ask them a few questions. We'll get to the bottom of this."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Good idea." Beth wakes up from her nap. "Hi." She says shy voice to Kay, "Beth, this is my friend Kay. She was the one I was tell you that is going to help us. After we eat some food. I'm going to help you find your family." Beth grins.

A woman brought over some more soup for Hawk and a hot dog and chips for Beth. "Thank you." Beth takes a big bite out of the hot dog. Hawk smiles. "Slow down or you will choke."

Kay smiles and watches Hawk looks after Beth. He sure had taken the father role pretty well. She declines more soup however as she thought it best to leave it for others that could use it more.

"A pleasure to meet you, Beth." She leans forward and whispers into the little girl's ear, "Do you think that you could look after him for me? Because he hit his head he isn't allowed to sleep and he'll need someone brave like you to make sure that he doesn't get hurt again. Do you think that you could do that?"

Beth eyes widen at what Kay whispered in her ear. She nods her head. "I will make sure he doesn't sleep ever." She was going to protect her Sleeping beauty. He was just like her. If he falls asleep, he would sleep forever.

Hawk raises an eyebrow as the two girls whispers away. He wonder what Kay was telling Beth.

Kay smiled and padded her back. "Thank you." It wasn't every day that a little girl got to watch over a Jedi.

She got to her feet and stretched out a bit. "I'm going to find the city officials and see what's up. If you need anything, you know how to reach me." She bowed her head a little and then slipped out of the tent. One of her guards had kept with her while the others stayed behind to help. It wasn't as though she was going very far.

Kay soon found her way to the Mayor's office which was a little cracked but still standing. Once there she stepped inside and saw other officials speaking in loud but hushed tones. Something was afoot that they didn't want others to hear.

He didn't get a chance to ask Kay. She left after talking to Beth. Hawk finished his soup. He was feeling much better. He scoops up Fluffy. "Let's go find your family,". He careful get off the cot. He begins walking slowly holding onto Beth's hand.

"What did you and Kay talk about?" Beth shakes head and giggles. She wasn't going to tell him. They walk in a tent and looks around. Beth didn't recognize anyone. She frowns a little. "Don't worry. We have plenty of tents to look through."

Kay folded her arms across her chest as the city officials silenced themselves when they saw her. "No please, carry on with your discussion..."

They looked at eachother, but none spoke up right away. So she stepped forward a couple of steps and pressed them further on the issue. "What were you saying about drilling? That you knew what was going to happen?"

Each of the men looked to one individual that remained seated. He kept his expression pleasant as he raised his blaster and aimed it at her.

The two of them look through tent after tent with no luck. Hawk was beginning to fear that Beth's parent died in the earthquake. He gives her hand a little squeeze. Beth wipes a tear from her eyes. She was scared. She didn't want to go into the tent. It was the last one,

Hawk leads her into the tent. Beth walks around the tent looking at the different hoping for a familar face. When suddenly someome calls her name. Beth turns and looks. "Momma!" She yells and runs to her. Hawk follows closely carrying the kitten.

Beth hugs her mom tightly. The young woman looks at Hawk. "Thank you so much." Hawk smile. "I'm glad I was able to help. Here is the kitten. Keep a close eye on Fluffy, Beth." He hands the kitten to Beth. The mom hugs Hawk tightly to her, "I don't know what I've would done if I lost her too." She says to Hawk. He arches an eyebrow.

Beth sits down on the bunk."momma, where is daddy?" Momma sits down on the bunk next to Beth. "Daddy died saving me." She said softly. Beth burst into tear. Not her Daddy.
