Use the Force. Use the Force. That seems to be his answer to just about anything. All she knew was that it attracted bad attention and she was good enough at attracting it without using the Force. It had been a number of years since she had used it to carry someone, so she wasn't all that confident. Kay just lowered his arms and gestured to Hawk. "By all means, you can take care of it."

He knew that look. He did something wrong again. Frowning, he finished moving man unconscious body. There was no time to apologize or make amends. "Let's go destroy a mine." He wasn't sure about using explosives. They had other ways to do it.

She wrapped her arm around his shoulder. She didn't mean to make him sad. "Yes let's! And the drill too!" Kay smiled and led him over to the mine's entrance. Fortunately for them it was lit so that they didn't have to use their lightsabers for torches. She led him through the tunnel and stayed close so that they didn't lose eachother while the tunnel branched off.

Hawk flashes her a grin. He walks beside Kay as they go through the tunnels. Hawk runs his hand along the tunnel wall. The wall glittered with minerals and gem stones. "Wow. This..is amazing. Good thing I'm not a smuggler anymore or I would filling my pockets with these gems."

Kay smirked as she then started to drag him along. "Now, now just ignore them. Each gem that they've collected has cost a life. We must find that drill and disable it permanently."

It wasn't hard to follow the most recent trail. Where it ended was a huge cavern with a massive drill in the centre of a huge gaping hole that seemed to have no bottom. Elevators and stairs flanked the sides of the hole. It was a massive operation that for the moment was put on hold due to the quakes.

"Just one little gem and I could send Maddie to private school." He mutters as he walks along. The cavern was huge. Everything about this place was big.

"Light saber is out. That drill is massive. We are going to have to use explosives. I just hope that we don't set off a chain reaction earthquakes."

"Explosives? Not on the drill. We can climb down just low enough to be in the dark, then cut the hydrolic lines. We have to take away the source of it's power and the ability to drill. Surely our sabers can cut through the bit?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Yeah. We should be able too." He just wasn't thrilled with the idea of climbing down. He heads over to where they will begin to climb down. "You have any rope in your bag?" He asks her. He kneels down to look at the hydronic line. It was pretty thick but doable.

"Why can't we just cut it here?"

"But we have to get to the drill bit. And no I don't have any rope. That's why we use the stairs, silly."

She pointed them out and then started down. Maybe Hawk was afraid of the dark. Kay took out her old lightsaber and ignited it, letting the light blue blade light their way.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Ohh..stairs". He says. "I didn't see those." He follows down behind Kay. He wasn't afraid of the dark. He was more afraid of falling and dying. Stairs creaked as they went down them.

The further down they went..the darker it got. Kay lightsaber was casting a errie glowing. "I feel cold." He says to Kay.

She smirked as he complained about being cold. "Of course you do. We are in a cave. They are known for being cold and damp. Just stick with me. I don't think that we'll have to go too much further." Or so she had hoped. Already the drill machine seemed to be narrowing, meaning that they were closer to the bit end which will be much easier for their sabers to cut through.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Not that kind of cold, Kay." He say to her a little harshly . Something was off. "Something darker ...sinister..evil." He shook his head. He was sounding like a nut.

In the darkness, the amulet glowed red against his chest. It felt cold.

What he had said brought a chill down her spine. It wasn't so much what he said, but more so how he said it. The last time he was like that was before Shaw died.

She looked at him, about to ask him about it when the red glow on him distracted her. "What's that Hawk?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

Hawk glances down. Frak. The amulet was doing it. "It's .." He says stuttering a little, "complicated story that we don't have time for me to tell it. It a force device that has a mind of it own."

It was the first time that it glowed red since Hawk acquired it from his father. "Seriously Kay..we really must keep moving. We don't know when the next quake will hit.. And I don't want to be in the mine when it hits,"

She raised a brow but nodded anyways. They had to focus on the task at hand. So without a word she continued further down until she saw that the drill bit was now small enough that they could both cut through it, yet still at a point where it was beyond repair.

Kay brought her saber to one side if the drill bit and began to cut through. As the bit was a really thick metal, it wasn't as easy as slicing bread.

"This will go faster if you attack it from the other end. We'll meet up at the middle."

[member="Lady Kay"]

He was relieved when Kay agreed to let it go until later. He follows her down to where the drill bit was narrower. He goes to the other side of it. He ignites his saber and helps Kay cut through the drill until their sabers meet in the middle with a clashing sound.

The drill bit off into the dark bottomless mine, "That was easy enough." He says just seconds before an alarm goes off. Someone must have discovered the missing guards.

The only way to escape was going back up. He took the lead with light saber in hand. "Stay close." He tells her.

She nodded and cut through the hydrolic wires first. Alarm or no alarm, it needed to be done. Kay then shut off her saber and followed in behind Hawk. She didn't need to whisper as she spoke, however as the alarm would no doubt drown it off in the distance. "Hawk turn off your saber. It'll give away our location. We can sneak up on them better if we aren't seen."

Hawk switched off his blade as he goes up the stairs. They were almost at the top of the stairs as a few shots rain down on them. Hawk ignites his blade and bats the bolts back at them killing a few of the guards. The amulet was humming and icy cold in the jacket. Hawk reaches in his jacket to remove the amulet. It was distracting him.

Once the amulet was freed from his jacket. It could do what it wanted. It had become an angel of death. It glowed bloody red. It judged the guards as it enemy and killed them. Everyone but Hawk and Kay dropped dead. Hawk's hand trembles as he looks at the amulet.

Hawk was lightning fast and that was good. It protected them. But then when the amulet killed all of those in the tunnels besides themselves, her jaw dropped slightly. She approached one of the fallen men and checked for a pulse. "He's dead...They are all dead. Hawk....what just happened here?" Of course it was obvious, but she wanted to know how it happened.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"The amulet killed them. It was protecting us I think." The gem in the middle of the amulet switched from red to white. "Oh good it neutral again."

He places the amulet back in his jacket. "We should go." Hawk steps over the bodies. He felt bad that they had to died. "It's quick death."
