Invasion of Ord Mirit OOC [GR vs. OS]

[member="Micah Talith"]

She wears bones in her hair.....'tis in her bio under gear. Plus in her first post she is sitting weaving more bones into her hair. 'Tis not like it's gear as it's an accessory that she carries. Kinda how like some Jedi use infrared vision to detect PC who are bending the light around them. :)

Also, I didn't say you did....I wrote that I might have misread your post and was just asking for clarification, that was all. :)

Posting orders get kind of botched some times in large scale movements like this, but I hadn't responded yet as I was waiting for a post from Alva (seeing as though I'm technically engaging both of you). Please keep that in mind in the future, we have done a good job so far in terms of respecting that difficult aspect of an invasion like this, and the preference is to avoid players having to respond to more than one post from a single character within a 24 hour window.

"The gravity gun was a superweapon designed by Lord Shadowspawn prior to 5 ABY. It fired powerful gravity bomb projectiles that were able to destroy even a capital ship." - Wookiee

The weapon is considered a superweapon by wookieepedia standards, not to mention the difficulty of moving that sort of payload onto a gunship (slow torpedo fired in space). I'm gonna have to request that you change the armament back to the original gunship submission and please amend the post to reflect the change. Thanks and Cheers.

7. Superweapons are restricted to Staff-Approved Events and must be destroyed prior to the end of the event.

[member=Jupiter] is not using the Gravity Gun, she's merely using gravity bombs, which are not exclusive to the aforementioned superweapon.

The Yevethan Thrustships carried 4 gravity bomb launchers, and were considered "common."

Thus, no alteration will be needed. Hopefully that clarifies the issue for you.

I don't intend to argue over whether it's superweapon or not. However, the difference's in the shuttles (one is 240 meters, the other is 16) being used and the fact that it's not in the factory sub does mean that it will need to be removed. So...please remove it.

"The plates that found themselves superheated reflected the blasts, piercing the leg of the beast rider as he screamed out in guttural tones. It seemed the dovin basals didn't consider him a vulnerability on the warkeeper - they guessed wrong."

That was clever. When I finished that sentence I found myself lolz'ing. Good stuff.

[member="Yurzhoc Shai"] I will not be revising my post. The gravity bomb is not a super weapon, any more than your dovin basals are super weapons.

Here's an actual list of gravity based superweapons:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Gravitational_superweapons

Examples would include the Mass Shadow Generator from KOTOR, or a satellite/planetary sized dovin basal.

A list of bombs, which is directly linked in the site's starship creation guide:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Bombs

"Slow" is a relativistic term. While gravity bombs may be slow moving weapons in terms of space combat, that is in an arena where starships can accelerate and zip around at hypersonic velocities. They're still going to be pretty fast versus slow moving and semi-fixed ground targets. At the time of launch, my gravity bombs were already starting off with acceleration from my Thunderstrike's dive, so that will add to their speed.

The effects I described with the collision of the singularities is backed by real world physics:

http://hubblesite.org/explore_astronomy/black_holes/encyc_mod3_q6.html
http://www.universetoday.com/116500/new-simulation-offers-stunning-images-of-black-hole-merger/

"It is possible for two black holes to collide. Once they come so close that they cannot escape each other's gravity, they will merge to become one bigger black hole. Such an event would be extremely violent. Even when simulating this event on powerful computers, we cannot fully understand it. However, we do know that a black hole merger would produce tremendous energy and send massive ripples through the space-time fabric of the Universe. These ripples are called gravitational waves."

These dovin basal things just seem so cool, that I couldn't help but jump into the gravity crushing fun.

Hey buddy, could you kindly provide working tags for anyone you're targeting on Objective C?
Sorry about that, thanks for letting me know. I'll edit my post according to make sure everyone gets properly tagged. I know there's a lot to read up on, and I don't want to make life any harder for anyone.

"...the fact that it's not in the factory sub does mean that it will need to be removed."

We cannot be asked to remove a perfectly valid piece of canon technology that is being used appropriately. The factory is entirely optional and the technology is valid. Freighters, gunships and capital ships alike all use concussion missiles, do they not?

If you can prove the device cannot possibly be used in this sense by providing a canon source, then we will acquiesce to your request. Until then, however, no alterations will be made, and damage will need to be administered accordingly.

We do not expect this device to destroy your entire half of the map, nor do we expect it to operate on a capital-grade level. We expect only what we always have: A rational and creative approach to dealing with the hand you've been dealt.

Intent: To provide Rendili, and Rendili Stardrive's Clients with Heavy Hitting, Fast, and Maneuverable Gunship.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Rendili Stardrive
Model: BT-12 Thunderstrike
Affiliation: Republic, Rendili, Rendili Stardrive Clients
Modularity: No
Production: Mass
Material: Durasteel, Transparisteel
Description: A reintroduction of the BT series, the BT-12 Thunderstrike very much resembles the BT-7 Thunderclap design of old. Sporting heavier laser cannons, more missile tubes, and a bomb bay to boot though, the BT-12 is much more firmly armed than its ancestor craft. In addition when constructing and developing the BT-12, Rendili Stardrive noticed the flaw of the huge size of the original BT-7 design and worked tirelessly to transform the craft into a more manageable and reasonable size. Now much smaller than its predecessor the BT-12 is a much more difficult target to track by enemy craft both large and small, though it ssacrificesits ability to act as a large freighter in exchange. Still as a dedicated attack vessel the BT-12 delivers with heavy weaponry to blow apart enemy starfighters, missile launchers with the punch to match enemy defenses, and the ability to commit to bombing runs against ground targets to support infantry and clear hot zones, the BT-12 delivers as a truly efficient military wonder.

The submission specifically states that it's not modular. So by using it in such manner, you are violating the premise of the original submission (you aren't just dealing with canon rules at this point).
