I was always under the impression that dev requirements could be split amongst more than single person, but have found separately. I was just wanting exact clarification.

Can it be split amongst others? To what ratio? For example, a dev of ten posts, can be split between two, to reach a 5:5 ratio. But say its twenty posts between 7 people, this does not count? It is still dev and has a story meeting requirements.

What about 20:20, ie twenty people posting a single time each. Again, fhe challenges are met, and dev is completed... but it doesn't count?

Where do you see that development cannot be used by everyone involved?

Misunderstanding. What I meant is, all of a sudden the number of posts per writer also counts toward the over all goal. From my understanding, as said, ratio wise so long as the dev number was met you were good. No I am to understand anything under 10 posts yourself in a dev, does not count then.

No, that is not correct. If you participate in the development and actually complete the objective yourself (in the case of a restricted material) you will be able to use the development thread for development.

However, if you pop in and make an introductory post and then a secondary post but never actually participate beyond that you are likely to be asked for more development.

If you participate in a 20 post development thread to mine for beskar and do 8 posts, for example, out of the group effort to do 20, you should be fine. If you jump in and do two or three posts, however, you will be asked for more.

I have recently been looking through my equipment and have noticed that the Templar Armour had been retroactively denied due to all of its materials being reused in other pieces of armour. This happened while my character wasn't part of the faction anymore, though still had the set of armour given to him amongst his possessions. I'm currently not quite sure what to do in this case, should I re-sub the armour or get rid of it entirely as the original submission was retroactively denied?

Thank you for your time!

I would simply utilize the Obsidian's Cure Armor, otherwise I would opt to submit a new armor (though you will need development if you want to utilize restricted materials).

But, yes, I would get rid of the original armor completely as it is retroactively denied.

It's variable to what you had originally and what you might be asking for.
The original frame - 91 posts total

Here what I want to do with it is a dedicated carrier with 10 squadrons in it. How many turbolasers would I be allowed? (assume no change in speed, maneuverability or defenses - any 10 extra posts beyond the baseline 20 for reconditioning will probably net me 100 extra turbolaser equivalents under these stipulations)

Are you asking how many more guns you can add on while already adding on 8 more squadrons?

I'd be fine with a change to an armament ranking of 10-12 with maximum hangar at the amount of development you have already in the submission if you're going to make a modification request. I would suggest adding ten more posts on for an IC reason behind this change (which, if you do, nets you a bit more flexibility). All in all that should be about 700 or so turbolasers (total), unless I'm mistaken.

Question...oh wait, this is the chippy. I need to clean my glasses more.

Enough with the stupid. How many times can a dev thread be used? Is it once and then that's it or can you use one dev thread more than once?

It depends on the submissions it is being used for. A ten post thread to make a necklace and earrings (two different subs) out of phrik would be perfectly fine, a 10 post thread to make two different armor subs (same person) would not.

There are no firm standards, and that's for a reason. Any number of factors go into balancing a ship and evaluating a dev thread. In general, though, if everything else was 100% vanilla, a basic dev thread could bump an armament rating up by a little bit. Ballpark? Maybe two.

Consecutively rhyme the last word of every other sentence in a paragraph in every post for the full duration of a duel against a Force User player character
Does this mean I would rhyme sentences 1 and 3; 5 and 7; 9 and 11? Or is it 1 and 2; 3 and 4; 5 and 6? Or something else? If it's the former, it seems like it wouldn't look quite as ridiculous as the challenge originally seems. :p

That depends on what effects your berserker drug might have. If you are giving large advantages in a PVP setting you will probably be asked for development, and this may also be impacted by production level.

It is going to give the user a sense of being unstoppable, increase reaction time, increased strength. But it also gives the user hallucinations and it will kill them after around 30-45 minutes. It's going to be used to create a bezerker npc.

We do not permit auto-killing substances/weapons/etc in the factory or on the board - it goes against our rule regarding killing other PCs. While you can certainly say something like overuse can lead to death, you may be asked to change it to reflect that rule. (Rule quoted below for posterity).

You will likely be asked for development, though, considering the advantages you've mentioned. I can't really say how much without seeing the submission, so I'd just suggest you go ahead and have development ready for it at that point.
5. You may not kill another character without that character's permission.
