The Pleasent Ball

Kyrie Monroe

Huntress Extraordinare!

Kyrie gave a half smile and then takes another drink. "Perhaps." she said responding to Osaa's question regarding if Kyrie was force sensitive. "Prehistoric Jedi..interesting. Well, I am not one for religions and such so.." she shrugs then removes the black formal dressed hat that was sitting loosely on top of her head.

"I see." he said after hearing what she said. Force sensitives were the ones in the galaxy that made a war. Sure there was soldiers and fleets, but there's always laser sword battles. Oka saw the hat she removed from her head. He would comment on that but there's better things to talk about. "What kind of music do you like Kyrie?" he asked setting his cup aside and setting his arm on the bar neatly. Maybe he should show some more manners but he's not the formal type. Plus, he was wasted a little bit from the drink Cross gave him. He wasn't about to show it though.

Kyrie would look down at Osaa's drink for a moment then back up towards his face while smiling faintly as if noticing something.

"Music? I unfortunately don't get it around to listen to a lot of it. A little bit of everything I suppose." she said then finishes the last of her own drink and replaces the glass onto the bar counter.

Oka smiled. He didn't get to listen to music a lot either but he had to act like he knew something. "Do you dance?" he asked. He was getting a little more comfortable with talking. Kyrie was right, talking was better than being shy and acting weird.

Kyrie gave a bright smile then places a hand that curled into a light fist under her chin propping her head up lightly as she continues to watch Oka. "Of course I dance!" she said happily.

Oka kept smiling. Her reaction was just wonderful. He decided to go on and ask one more question. "Would you like to dance Miss Monroe?" he asked as he stood up and put his hand out. Maybe he was going too far, maybe he wasn't. He didn't know anymore. He was just happy. Kyrie actually talked with him and didn't push him away. He was grateful.

Oka held on to her hand tight. "Its okay, I haven't danced in a while anyways. Just learn as we go, right?" he asked leading her onto the dancefloor. Before changing his position with his hands, he thought about what she'd do if he touched her somewhere she didn't want him to. The thought just came to his mind as he watched her.

“Somehow I find it hard to believe that you’re capable of a hangover at all. What with most people only getting more, ah…inebriated, I suppose is the word, while you become more of a conversationalist than you already are. But if you do feel it necessary to give yourself a hangover, then I’d be happy to help you with that headache you’ll inevitably wake up with.” Kadrak grinned and shrugged. “You just bring it out in me, I suppose. But I do believe I’ll be holding off for the night, all things considered.”
She looked up as the bartender handed her drink back, pausing for a moment before taking a sip. “Not bad. I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time we go out, which will most likely be soon, knowing us. The sap does give it more of a sweeter tang. You know what you're talking about, but I'm sure everyone here was already aware of that." She winked, taking another sip.

"I'm capable of a hangover. I just actively prevent myself from getting one. I'd give myself one just so you can help me. But I have a feeling it's not necessary."

I took another drink of my whiskey, and grinned again.

"Of course we'll be going out soon. Can't imagine being stuck in that old bucket of mine. So many more fun places we could go. And the sap is the reason I drink whiskey instead of anything else. It mixes well."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

Kadrak shrugged. "It's not necessary, no. I'd be happy to watch your back for you just as we are. But, much to my and our disappointment, I don't think we'll have much of a reason to worry. With all of the security about and the fact that this is the palace of some royalty of another tend to be good deterrents. Besides, everyone was supposedly specially invited. Though there are other ways to get in besides an invitation." She winked, taking another drink. "Though I'm sure neither of us would know about nothing of the sort."
She flashed a grin and nodded. "What is it you have in mind for our next stop? I believe I picked it the last time, so it's your turn. As much as I like this nice, formal party, I'm more of a person that prefers to live on the dangerous side of things. Especially when it comes to parties. There's something refreshing about having to watch your step in every other situation."

"Sadly, not as many people are as openly violent as Oka when they're drunk. I guess the guards would deter most of the wonderful addicts from the city."

My expression turned more serious, and I looked down, into my drink.

"I'd like to go back to Zeltros. I haven't seen my dad in a long, long time, and I haven't seen my old house in longer than that. Even if it's been burned down to 'repent for the unholy creation of a Dark creature' or whatever, I'd like to see. And I'm sure my dad is still on Zeltros somewhere. The old bastard loved the place too much to ever leave."

I grinned again, and remembered the scared noble who'd given me our tickets. He hadn't had the temerity to disagree when my eyes had turned red, and my teeth had turned sharper. I'd tell Kadrak about it later, when there was nobody who'd be trying to arrest us for it.

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

Kadrak grinned. "Dark creature, hmm... Doesn't fit as well as a few nicknames I could think up for you. They're far more flattering, I can assure you." She took another drink of her whiskey. "Oka's interesting when he drinks, I'll give him that. I haven't seen many people, Jedi or otherwise, who get upset enough to throw someone across the room just because of a whiskey or two. Of course, I haven't been fortunate enough to witness many drunk Jedi either. Present company excluded, but with the way you become impaired, if you can call it that, I wouldn't say it counts."
She paused for a moment, in thought. "Well, who's to say we can't get you back there? Exiled or not. It's easy enough to cook up a disguise or two, and there are other ways of going about it as well. Now that you mention it, I might just make that a new mission of mine. You deserve that much, at the very least. Anybody does, but most definitely you."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Oh, I've gotten that drunk before... But I have control of it now. I used to be a total menace."

I sighed, and looked at Kadrak.

"The thing is, I'm not sure I do deserve to go back. Or that it'd be a good idea. It's possible that I'd get my father killed just because I want to see him. I'm not overly worried about myself, but I think he might get caught or killed because I flushed him out of hiding."

I had a sudden idea, and brightened slightly.

"Unless... I can convince my father's old royal house that I'm the heir. If I can do that, me, you, and my dad will all have diplomatic immunity. Possibly permanently."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

Kadrak looked to him with a slight smile as he thought out loud, thinking up a few ideas of her own. "If my knowledge of how the inheritance works, the crown always goes to the eldest child, usually the son, but I like to think the daughter too. So unless you have a few older siblings you haven't told me about, by that ruling you are the heir. It won't be that simple to convince them, of course, and we'll probably have to come up with some kind of case to present, but it's a start. Unless politics work differently on Zeltros.
You would have to give me some background that you're comfortable with, if you'd like my help. I'm not exactly an expert on politics or diplomacy, but I can be a pretty convincing actor when I want to be." She winked. "It sounds to me like our next destination is Zeltros, once we get this sorted. Because if I was set on it before, this just cemented the deal."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Ah, but Zeltros is not our first destination. We're going to Csilla. Home of the slightly antisocial blue people. That is where I will get us diplomatic immunity. I seriously hope I don't have to perform a coup to do it, though."

I grinned, the plan finally taking a shape I liked.

"Other than my eyes, you don't know much about my Chiss half, right?"

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

At his grin Kadrak allowed herself a smile, knowing that the plan was taking on a very interesting turn. "Well, if you do, I'll happily back you up. I'm not sure how helpful my traps will be, but we can give it a shot if it comes to that." She paused for a moment as she thought, weighing all of the pros and cons. "Hopefully things will go well. At least marginally. Even though the underworld environment is easier for me to navigate, sometimes I find myself missing simple sophistication."
She shook her head. "If we're speaking just of your heritage instead of the people themselves, then no. I have a bit of a knowledge base regarding the Chiss, though nothing overly extensive by any means. I don't have as much time as I'd like to just sit down and read about the history of things. Even though technology manuals are far more interesting to me."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"I have no doubt that we'll need to make something explode. At least for fun, if not because we need to. Go ahead and make as many bombs as you like."

I stopped, and tried to figure out how to explain my place in the Ascendancy.

"I'm... the heir to the Nuruodo house on Csilla. Big name. Leaders like Thrawn, to name one. Zatten's my core name."

[member="Kadrak Jalaan"]

"Now you're speaking my language. Explosives I can do. A few explosives I can definitely manage. I don't think I'll go so overboard as to make as many as I'd like to, but I'll definitely manage to scrape up more than a handful. Without too much difficulty on my part, providing I have the necessary materials I need on hand and we manage to find the rest that we need. Which shouldn't be too hard." Kadrak nodded, already formulating just what kinds and how many of each bomb she would be crafting. Deciding was always the difficult part.
She whistled under her breath as he mentioned his family name. "Let's see...one of the major ruling families of the Ascendancy, to name one of the obvious facts. They deal with the foreign and military policies, and boast a strong military power. Beyond that...I don't know too much. About the family specifically. Thrawn is a name I most definitely recognize."

[member="Zatten Black"]

"Exactly, love. Now I just gotta convince them that red whites in my eyes aren't all the Chiss I have in me. It'd be more convincing if I was in my combat state all the time we were there, seeing as my eyes turn completely red. But if I can convince them, I'd be like a prince."

I winked at Kadrak, and smiled.

"Convenient, because I have a perfectly good princess with me. Seriously, though, I'd like to see the kind of state my family's in after the last sixty years of my father's banishment."
