Invasion The Republic Shall Fall [One Sith Invasion of Coruscant]

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Location: Coming Up The Steps of the Temple
Objective: Provide Reinforcements for the Republic,
Allies: Siobhan Kerrigan, Bluejay Ungolfen with Iron Company Soldiers, [member="Hasjo Hallu"]
Enemies: [member="Dak Canton"]

As Hasjo laid there and darkness close about him, he could hear, among echoes of battle and thunders of guns, that clear word,
"Fire."
It was not anybody mocking him,

It was the Iron Company conducting their flanking maneuver and approaching first resistance, a Fringe trooper it seemed, enemy between their landing zone and the entrance of Jedi Temple.

To be fair, Dak may have gotten a bit of a heads-up, they were armored troopers, after, heavy and brute, their footsteps would let themselves be known, but then again, the sound of his own gun firing at the Nautolan could drone out the sounds of approaching Protectorate troops.
However, the clunking of bolters would not be so easily hidden as barrages of blaster bolts and the explosive slugs would be thrown from advancing lines towards Dak, thankfully the troops were veterans when it came to these weapons, and they were rather long-ranged, they did not needed to be rather that close to be in range.

Their charge would be led by Bluejay, so she would dictate what their specific tactics were, but HK and Siobhan would not be too far behind, with his honor guards.

As the troops began to close in a wave of grenades would be thrown in Dak's direction, knock-out gas, as it was a customary tactic for them, knowing how well it worked against the Horde's forces, but he was most likely equipped with proper helmet and air-filtration unit. Still, it would obscure the field of vision, although the Company's soldiers were equipped with infra-red units to counter that, and the element of surprise was on their side.

As for HK,
He took quick aim in Dak's direction with his shatter-pistol, he was extremely swift on the draw and aim part, enough to take a well-aimed shot at a dragon in flight before the beast could set the tree HK was taking aim from on fire, he pulled the trigger.
Whooooosh
The high-speed tiny bullet would be launched silently through the air, aimed at Dak's lower waist, specifically spinal column, the droid did not meant to kill him, but surely disable him. Although the bullets were small caliber, the pistol had a range of a sniper rifle and enough kick to punch through light-vehicle armor. The rate of fire sucked, though, so Dak would have to worry about only one over-powered bullet.

The Force sang a deadly cry as the mute Darth as he came at her with blinding speed. Her blade tucked close to her body, and it parried the feint but did not allow her to avoid the force push. Raw energy went rushing through her core down to her legs as she braced to attempt to root herself on the ground.

Onii-san...

Instead, she slid back several feet, her cloak fluttering and hair flowing over her pallid face as that telekinetic energy sent her back, the Vonduun Skerr Kyrric she work taking the brunt of the energy, but none the less sending shards of dull pain through her. She was a shield. She was not a sword.

But that didn't mean she was utterly defenseless, as her right hand and a few fingers uncurled from the hilt of her saber.

Her expression was stoic as she came to a stop, her chin rising as the Sith Knight's palms began to crackle with energy, molding the Force energized lightning that crackled in her hands into a sphere of restrained kinetic energy. Kinetite. One she released at the Nautolan's direction.

From my position, kneeling down behind a bronzium statue of Darron Wraith, I did indeed see the approaching troops as they rumbled up the steps. Fortunately for me I was not the only guy on the Temple steps. There were a crap ton of Sith there. Those bad boys with the red lightsabers turned on the new arrivals and rushed straight into their ranks. Which would have been great, but I still had to deal with the initial attack, because for some reason they all decided to attack me.

"Are you kriffing kidding me," I shouted in a totally not high pitched way, though my voice was muffled by my helmet. "Gotta pick me, always me. Fierfek."

Canisters landed near by, spewing out smoke. I couldn't tell what type, but I was thankful for my helmet's filtration system that made sure nasty toxins didn't knock me out or kill me. That hid me from view, mostly. I decided to up the odds by launching a white phosphorous grenade back at them.

Thunk.

The grenade exploded in the middle of the formation. The initial explosion would burn through a tank, but the smoke that billowed out afterward, well, that's really the important part. Willie Peat stops infrared. And right now, I loved me some WP. Right up until a bullet came out of nowhere and nailed me in the stomach. The air rushed out and once more my ass went down to meet the ground. Oof. I blinked away tears. I was pretty sure one of my ribs was broken. I got up on one arm, hunkering down behind the bronzium statue of Darron Wraith. I glanced down at my armor. Well damn. The phrik armor had dented inward, but hadn't broken. The transference of kinetic energy from something that could pack that big of a punch most definitely had broken a rib.

I tried to mumble something soldierly. All that came out was, "Ow."

Looked like I was dealing with some droid hostiles. Time to use different ammo. Under cover of the WP and the bronzium statue I ejected the FLARE mag and snapped one filled with VENOM slugs. These things are nasty. They are hollow 5.56mm bullets filled with acid. When they hit a target, human or droid, they still pack a wallop, but then that acid gets everywhere. It'll eat through flesh n' bone. It'll also eat right through armor and those super important circuits that keep droids running.

Getting up from under my cover, I sprinted back into the Great Hall, where Jedi and Sith were clashing. I used a pillar for cover and kept a bead on the entrance. Those droids would be coming through that smoke anytime now.

Before JJ's shield even went up, his enemy was moving. Her feat pounding against the stone as she dashed to the side, performing a sloppy roll. Moving in such a way further injured her already battered body. A flesh bout of blood left both legs. Some sense of sound, though not much, was starting to return in her right ear. Hopefully that was a good sign. Pulling out of the roll she grabbed the regular lightsaber, just in time to have her old one hit her in the back. At first nothing happened. Still, having a potentially explosive device just sitting around wasn't a good idea. Risking another injury she picked it up before hurling it into the distance. It went fairly far before crashing into the ground. Luckily for those nearby it did not blow up... yet. There was no time to see if it was simply delayed. JJ resumed his assault upon Ven'Rain. The new, thinner, green blade burst to life just in time to block a blow that would have otherwise cut through the damaged armor. If this jumpy little Jedi wanted to win, he'd have to attack fast enough to leave no openings. That meant his strikes wouldn't be as calculated (even with Battle Meditation and the force senses), nor as accurate. If he tried to outstrength Ven... Well, I think we all know how that would go. For a bit the two clashed, JJ attacking, Ven defending. The two twisted and turned, both displaying a great skill with blades. Had things been different, they would make an excellent fighting team. Brute strength with agile speed... what a lovely combination. Finally she saw what she considered an opening. First feigning to the left, then jumping to the right (JJ's left), followed with a wide swing that would hopefully hit his blade hand. At the same time she brought up her right knee, hoping to once more use their closeness to get a hit to his chest. She had to end this soon, or she'd be done for. And getting beat up by a padawan would be very embarrassing.

The trio literally full-blown sprinted to their commander. The entirely of the Sixth Battalion was in this conflict, all of them adorned in the old, but reliable Phase II Clone Trooper armor. Granted, they weren't clones, but they fought as aggressively and effectively as they did, if not better. "Sir! He's burning alive, got any extra Bacta packs on you?" Jasper, the medic, asked whilst hurriedly rummaging around in his medical bag for the bacta packs and burn solvents to quickly apply. On Jed's left was Wade, busily firing away with his DC-15A at any who dared approach the sprinting few. "Yeah, I've got a few packs." The Colonel replied, tearing a hand away from his rifle to pat his utility belt.

"Move it!" The man bellowed, shouldering the weapon to drop a pair of Sith troopers in conjunction with Wade's fire. At that moment, they also reached Hasjo. Jasper was already down, patting out the remainders of the flames with his little emergency blanket before ripping it apart, smothering the strips with bacta, and applied them to the more burned areas. Jed couldn't stand to witness this. He had to at least do something. They seemed a little safe for the moment, so he ripped out his canteen and poured it in Hasjo's mouth, double checking to make sure that he was breathing in the first place. He was. His heart was beating and the water went down smoothly.

Thank God.

"Get him stabilized, Doc. Then we're bugging out." He noticed Wade taking a knee, covering their forward position. "Yes, sir. Give me a few minutes to get him mobile."

It appeared private units had arrived already in the company of HK-36. Already the big guns were starting to arrive. Sam began to wonder if the Sith had an exit strategy. They might want to start running.

The red Jedi stood up and shouted to Sokrai,

"Bout time you boys started leaving, isn't it. If you stay? I can't guarantee you'll live long enough to see tomorrow. This is your last warning."

Sam then retook her battle stance and smiled underneath her helm. She could wait. Even these Sith couldn't fight the army that was coming.

She smiled, as Sokrai their goal of spreading terror and destabilizing the Jedi had already worked. They had won. " Ha! Don't you see, we've already won, fool! No matter what armies you bring in, the weakness of the Jedi have been exposed! Don't you see, you've failed. Innocent people will die thanks to your ignorance, while they'll realize only the Sith can protect them! " She told [member="Sam Jhovna"] , using lots of force persuasion behind it, to corrupt her.

The thundering beast feinted. Ryan fell for it, attempting to block a lumbering strike. The monstrosity then jumped to his right, hitting the ground with ponderous feet. The Sithspawn swung in a wide blow aimed apparently at his hand, Ryan dropped the positioning of his saber down several inches and caught the stroke near the hilt. The bar of sky blue spat sparks as it sizzled against the stolen blade. Ryan could smell the ozone hanging in the air, along with the stench of many burning bodies. He gritted his teeth. Before he could move in a counter stroke the Sithspawn gave him a dolorous blow to the stomach with its knee.

Ryan stumbled backward, hunching over, world blurring around him. He gasped for breath, pain rifling through him. Chest a mass of bruises and now doubled over in agony, Ryan thought the world was about to end. He sought refuge in the Force, throwing himself freely into its arms and away from the pain. Korr regained his footing, hunching slightly.

Once more, Ryan stepped forward and attacked. The rivers of the Force surrounded him, shoring him up where he was weak and smoothing away pains. He would have time to feel them later. For now, he had to fight. Korr leapt into the air, and thrust for the neck, while simultaneously he yanked a bit of rubble from the ground behind the Sithspawn and used the Force to hurl it toward the back of its head. The blow wouldn't kill it, but it would prove a distraction and cause disorientation, Force willing.

Weapons firing from them as the droids that had been supplied by Aedan Miles fought their way through the melee attempting to push the Sith troops back from the temple and trap them between [member="HK-36"]'s soldiers and the mass that was the forces brought by Aedan Miles.

Energy from the blast channeled into the Sith at point blank range causing a reverberation in his own balance causing him to take a step backwards. A sharp inhale felt more like a twitch at the abnormal circumstance. As if he had been meant to take that step. In front of him now his opponent was building up her energy. A stationary method for administering strength would result in her own downfall.
A random Sith next to A'donari broke the Jedi who had been fighting menacingly. He would be sorely missed. Circumstances had changed in the instant. The masked Sith rushed towards A'donari and slashed violently at the Jedi's rib cage. A long stride into the attack positioned the Nautolan's body close enough to grab the man's arm underneath his own pinning them together. Conveniently the black robed body was shielding A'donari's side where the shot had come from.
Just as the huge telekinetic blast shuddered the ground beneath his feet, signaling it's departure from the wielder, A'donari reached out with the force. His grip clutching onto the woman's left ankle who was mentally preoccupied with having built up and now sending her own attack. The Jedi's counter attack resulted seemingly in unison with the Sith's offensive. Feeling the energy tighten around the physical being of the Sith's body was all he focused on before it hit. The blast detonated into the back of the Sith being held hostage by A'donari. Before the real shockwave of the attack rushed passed the instantly limp Sith meat bag jolted forward slamming into the Jedi's face. Blood shot from A'donari's nostrils though he did little to protect his body while it flew backwards limply. His thoughts were solely focused on clinging to the Sith's leg dragging her with him.
However far that be.

The red Jedi gave a wave of the hand. Dispelling the influence with her own.

"You haven't accomplished anything Sithling. Your just another pawn in a failed war machine. Upstarts, with no future. The Force will endure your presence as it has for a million years. ...In time? You'll just be like all the rest of your kind... Forgotten."

She maintained her stand off. A Jedi feels no need for combat. She could spar verbally with this woman warrior until the Turbolasers came crashing through the front door.

Time was on Sam's side here.

I'm not much of a waiting kind of guy. If you're late to my date, I leave. So while I could hear the droid company fighting through that haze of smoke, I couldn't see any of them yet. I stood behind a pillar at the front entrance, just inside the Great Hall but looking down onto the Temple steps. I started shooting at what I could see, which was a Jedi attacking some hapless Sith. As it so happened, the Jedi was a Nautolan. I peered through the optics at him and my finger tightened around the trigger as I drew a bead on his movements, waiting for the right opportunity. A lot was goin' on. Suddenly, both went sailing through the air. I waited until the fishhead landed, then l squeezed off two three round bursts. Six 5.56mm Venom hollow bullets filled with acid that would begin to eat through whatever it touched zipped toward the Nautolan's back. Man, I was starting to feel racist.

Ever thankful for the cover provided by the allies of the Protectorate and those unknown to him, Jed gave an affirmative grunt as the multitudes of soldiers and droids ran past his little group tending to Hasjo. By now, Jasper already had much of his body covered in strips of cloth covered in bacta, an IV was inserted, and he was lying on a fold-out stretcher, stabilized. "We good?" The Colonel asked the pair of troopers. Jasper flashed a thumbs up, busily writing down the medical report to hand off to the battlefield surgeons once they got to their Med point. "I'm ready. Let's roll." Wade fired another pair of blaster bolts in the direction of the enemy. Once the medic finished his scribbling on a notepad, Jed helped him lift the stretcher whilst the third of their group covered them.

We took off in a sprint towards a recently landed LAAT/i that was depositing a squad of fresh soldiers, Wade waving frantically at its pilot in order to keep the steel bird seated long enough for them to send their commander back to the Med point. "Let's hurry." The medic urged them, panting. And they finally made it, the onboard medical droid immediately moving forward to assess its new patient. "Alright boys, we've done enough." Jasper scooted forward to hand the droid the note with the medical report, waving at the pilot right after. Within a minute, they'd gotten their commander across the courtyard and sent him back to the battlefield hospital. If only things could stay in their favor.

Joined by fresh troops, Jed and his pair of comrades watched the gunship carrying Hasjo lift off and hum off into the distance. "Get your thumbs out of your asses, boys. We've still got a fight to finish."

Siobhan had been tagging along with the Iron Company and HK. Presumably she was also the exact opposite of subtle, being clad in her heavy beskar armour and in any case even if was not so heavily outfitted she was not good at stealth, so it was terribly unlikely that she would be good at staying undetected anyway. She had been hanging back a bit, letting the Iron Company soldiers take the lead. Undoubtedly this was not particularly courageous, but nonetheless. Incidentally enough Siobhan could appreciate ingenious ways to take down force-users, as the Fringe trooper had, unbeknownst to her, demonstrated just moments ago in his battle with a Nautolan Jedi. Of course, she would probably like the fact that she could find herself on the receiving end of sophisticated anti-force user tech a good deal less.

It might be a sobering reminder to her that even a 'force god' would be taken down with creative thinking and ingenious use of technology of firepower, that she was still mortal. Something she did not like being reminded about. But then there were more pressing matters to think of. Such as killing Sith and the like and not getting killed herself.

Billowing clouds of smoke rose up as the white phosphorus grenade detonated. Amidst the chaos of the battle she had been too late to react and telekinetically deflect it, fortunately she had been hanging back closer to the rear. In any case she wore beskar armour that should offer greater protection, though she had to ground herself to avoid getting thrown by the blast of the explosion, and the Iron Company soldiers were strongly kitted out as well. The clouds of smoke disorientated her as her vision was filled with it.

Then pandemonium broke out as Sith knights, wielding those crimson lightsabres that were so common - one might wonder why it was always red, as if no Sith had a desire to diversify, especially since their code was all about breaking all restrictions, but then Siobhan obviously lacked special insight and was probably not thinking about this - charged them. The sounds of battle, the hum of their lightsabres brought her back to reality. The Iron Company soldiers and Iron Knights had anti-force user weapons of their own, such as bolters and anti-force user grenades, perfect for cleaning the road to the Temple steps.

Aphotic energies rippled through her gauntlet-covered hand, power coursing through her being as she sought power within herself, drawing inward and then unleashed it with her telekinetic might, sending forth a telekinetic shockwave, a tidal wave of power that would slam towards the attacking Sith. Siobhan had, not to put too fine a point on it, a talent for being concussively unkind. In her grasp the Force became harnessed into an invisible hammer, due to which she had been known as Omega Pyre's battering ram back in the day. So the wave of energy would sweep towards them, aiming to send attackers flying like ragdolls, crush bones, push back raging flames and smoke as the ground seemed to shake and suffer from quakes under her power. One of the large statues below the steps towards the Temple might be shaken under the pressure, doubtless some hostiles would be slammed into one. Hopefully if there was more significant structural damage the Jedi would not take offence and send her a bill. Then suddenly a bronzium statue began to shake as it was violently lifted and torn free from the ground into the air to be raised and then violently smashed into Sith warriors that were close to it with tremendous force again and again.

Jumpy Jedi fought surprisingly well. Somehow he had earned the respect of the being determined to end his existence. Not that it really meant much, considering the situation. As JJ hunched over his opponent frowned softly. Was this over? "You're strong, little Jedaii. Very strong. If everyone in the order had as much potential as you do, well, the Sith would not stand a chance. Not everyone has such willpower. No matter the outcome of this day, be proud of what you have accomplished. One day, I am sure, we will fight again." That was when he moved. What drove him seemed to be pure desperation. One last stand against his foe. While his fist was easily caught in one hand, the rock hit hard against the upper back of her head. She frowned, wondering how much blood would come from the fresh wound. Next she tried to spin JJ around, hoping to catch him in a headlock with her right arm before hitting his chest with her left. If that succeeded she would loosen her grip just enough to jab her fingers into a pressure point. Should she hit the right spot it would knock JJ out. Note the words knock out. The blow wouldn't be enough to kill. She was intentionally keeping him alive. Maybe because she saw the same fire in him she once had. Or maybe... maybe she wanted him to come back some day.
To stop her.

No rest for the weary. Luckily for Ben he could analyze a fight and move at the same time without missing a beat. As long as his connection to the force was strong, so was his battle meditation, he could see things that most people never dreamed they could. The speed of the Sith Lord was impressive, but Ben felt like he was faster, none the less he could make zero mistakes in a situation like this. The Sith trumped Ben in strength by a mile and if he slipped up even once he was a goner. He had to keep his wits about him. On top of that the armor the Sith was wearing was something he barely recognized and was not even sure if he knew exactly what it was. His best guess was some Vong material, which of course meant, it was probably resistant to lightsaber strikes. R.A Salvatore sucks.

Wincing, he watched as the Sith Lord flung a lifeless Jedi in his direction, he felt terrible that he had no time to mourn his death. He would be one of countless others to die today, they would be mourned, they would not be forgotten. Ducking under the body Ben placed his free hand to the ground and built up a powerful amount of force into his legs and hand. The Sith Lord charged him and sparks flew off the ground as he drug his lightsaber across the ground. Just as he was about to bring it up Ben shot the force push into the ground as he jumped to fling himself further into the air, creating a tiny crater in the ground, and also spreading a force wave that he hoped would do some sort of damage to the Sith.

Flipping through the air, Ben landed a few meters behind the Sith, this time he was going to have to strike. Reigniting his lightsaber as soon as he hit, he ran in the direction of [member="Darth Shara"], slicing the leg of a Sith who tried to stop him, he nimbly lunged at Shara at slashed his lightsaber at his side. It was met with the large blade of the lightclub, but that is what Ben wanted, he used the momentum to spin around quickly and he stabbed his lightsaber at the mans armor. He needed to see if it was lightsaber resistant or not.

Shara grunted as the force wave struck him back and he blocked the Jedi's lightsaber. It was only seconds later that the tiny human was upon him once again, grunting and attacking him head on. The flick of his lightsaber was too fast, the mans stab came at him and struck his armor. The Maelibus' eyes open wide as blue struck black.

Instantly a hissing noise escaped from the armor. The Vonduun Crab armor sizzled and burned away, every second growing thinner and thinner.

Shara laughed, a deep growling laugh. He looked down at Ben, the lightsaber resistant armor holding for a moment as the man stabbed at him. His grin only widened when Ben pushed the lightsaber further into him, trying to break through the armor. The smell of burning rubber entered the air as the Maelibus natural armor began to scorch away. Shara took in a deep breath, smelling his own burning flesh.

“Die Jedi.” He said suddenly as his open handed shot up. With one quick strike Shara sent Ben flying, smacking him across the face with a heavy hand anda slight nudge of the force.

The Jedi Master flew back, his lightsaber leaving a hole in the Vonduun crab armor, revealing the Maelibus' natural armor beneath. As the Jedi fell to the ground the Maelibus rushed forward again, leaping into the air and raising his lightsaber in a strike powerful enough to smash duracrete with ease.

After quickly talking to [member="Darth Vornskr"], Daella hopped off the ledge she stood on and into the chaos below. She deftly avoided combat as she weaved around combatants. She remained unarmed.

As she continued to dive further into the battle, Daella’s eyes befell the veteran Jedi Master [member="Ben Watts"] and his foe [member="Darth Shara"].

Eventually, she reached the two just as Ben was thrown back.

Master Watts,” she said with a soft voice as the Maelibus flew at him. Daella supposedly had ineptitude with the active use of the Force, so immediate help from her being unarmed might have been unexpected.

Then with a loud voice, Daella yelled, “Stand with me!

The tip of Ryan's blade was mere inches away from the monstrosity's throat before it suddenly caught his hand with its own, a massive paw enclosing both lightsaber and fist before swinging him around wildly. Ryan let loss a gasp of terror as the world swam around him. Disoriented though he was, he could see the massive fist sailing toward his chest. Ryan whipped his feet backward, using the muscles in his left arm, the hand of which the beast still head. The fist sailed just below him. Korr let his feet drop, using the momentum to swing himself entirely around. He attempted to wrench his hand free of the being's grasp, but that proved futile.

So he broke his wrist.

Loosing a cry of pain through gritted teeth, he twisted and contorted his wrist in a way that human flesh and bone is never supposed to move. His sky blue blade bent back onto the monstrosity's arm as he attempted to cut its hand off at the wrist. Durasteel, if it was there at all - for one had to have joints in the armor in order for it to work properly - would be thin and easily cut through.
