Faith had listened all she could, debate and discussion. The Kuati Senator was not gaining any points here in the Senate today, and if he was those who did support knew enough to remain silent.

"Alderaan seeks recognition" The pod moved forward she smiled and looked around, "Clones have long been a topic of discussion in halls such as this" She wished for once she could sense their moods.

"Alderaan supports the clones being given rights, and citizenship on whatever planet they choose if the sitting government is willing to grant it. They were artificially created but last time I checked they bled just as easily as anyone else." These things the Senators knew, "And they have fought wars that were not their own but it was their programmed duty to do. Many died, many have lived, and now with the discovery on Liliac there are more that need to be considered. Creating life for the sole purpose of having it destroyed makes no sense."

Careful she needed to be careful of her words so easily words could be mistaken and implied to other meaning, she hoped to avoid that here. The tiny brunette who felt ancient but yet no wiser hoped to make a valid convincing point. "Senator Fable Solborne makes a valid point, we should outline what we want to offer them maybe they have an idea of their own about what they want let's negotiate rather than dictate."

"Alderaan also supports banning the creation of more. If we need soldiers let's do it the old fashion way, maybe we'll reconsider war if it is our own blood being spilled rather than being so detached by creating someone to fight it for us." It was sad she could feel that to talk about someone who cried, bled, acted honorably, offered their life, and died...all because they were bought and sold. It was slavery all over again.

But she didn't say that. not here...not now..they needed to change how they were seen...

"Alderaan also offers to take as many as we can to Sanctuary Coast, for care and interviewing." She nodded having said all she wanted. "Alderaan yields the floor"

"Mmm- No, I believe they intended to pay the clones for their work, but the public doesn't really care for details, historically speaking, I can see the attack ads now," she said under her breath to Emmen Tagge and the others as he seemed quite taken aback by the implications clones might be used for forced labor. Mina was a shrewd political strategist. Her reputation as a ruthless campaign manager was only rivaled by her legal acumen and she had a bad habit of viewing everything from an electoral point of view.​

This particular personality trait was one she sensed her friend and boss, Emmen, did not particularly care for as it often made her seem hollow. Then again, she wasn't hired for her bleeding heart. "Just... pointing that out," she cleared her throat, hoping to soften what she'd said. As the debate continued on the floor, Mina turned her attention to her datapad where statistics on public opinion were scrolling past. The public seemed to be in favor of sentient rights for clones, though she noted an alarming trend of anti-imperialist sentiment that seemed to fuel hatred for clones trending as well. She decided against sharing that information for now.​

"Miss Denko-Durren is correct, Emmen, while clones do typically have a certain level of bioengineering that inhibits or encourages certain behavior, it is quite possible to circumnavigate those traits through scientific means.. and yes, the "Force," such as it is. Even clones genetically engineered to be subservient retain their sentience," as she spoke she continued to look down at the statistics on her datapad, "I mean, what would be the point otherwise? Everyone would just use droids." Her tone was very matter of fact, but she was correct. Clones were superior to droids precisely because their sentience allowed more dynamic thought.​

When Emmen finally called for the vote, she placed her datapad to the side and used the controls on the podium to project the question and the vote totals above their heads. As each Senator voted, Mina called out the vote to confirm. "On the motion to grant Sapient Rights to Clones -- Metellos votes Aye..."​

The vote tally above her head changed to reflect 1 favorable vote, but before anyone else could vote the Senator from Kalist took the floor and threw a wrench into the proceedings. "Lisza, we're going to need to get some drinks after this," she said, leaning behind Emmen to nod in Raona Cadera 's direction. "Here-" Mina swiped her hand across her datapad and a summary of procedures would appear on Emmen's podium screen, "if Kalist fails to secure a second, the motion dies and we can proceed with the voting." In all fairness, Mina was never optimistic when it came to parliamentary procedure.​

Shute Gunray rubbed his hands together as he listened to the ongoing debate. Everything had gone as he expected, with the key players opting in to reiterate their longstanding beliefs, referencing things like justice or freedom. He couldn't blame them. The Galactic Alliance built itself on those principles, singing the song of democracy across the galaxy as it struck out against the Sith Empire and Bryn'adul alike. Those beliefs, while respectable, didn't bring in the credits necessary to fund a government or fill his coffers. So, the Neimoidian continued to listen, awaiting the Chancellors call to action. When it finally came, Shute stood and stepped forward.

"Caamas votes in favor of rights to clones," Shute's fingers drummed along his bulbous belly as he spoke. "I would like to remind those calling to delay said vote, we do not have weeks on end to make this decision. Even now, Clones are discriminated against, enslaved, killed, or engaged in criminal activity. A bill can be produced from the Chancellor's office following a conclusion to our meeting."

Shute Gunray took a step back, lowering himself into his seat once more.

The Imperials were in-sight.

Adson could already smell the credits. He imagined the intoxicating fragrance of fresh cred-chips, more than enough to grant him passage off this Force-forsaken hell world. All he had to do was hand off that thing inside the duffel bag, and they were his. He pushed down on the pedals beneath his feet, prompting the engine to double its efforts and boosting his speederbike's already considerable tempo even further.

The whine of his engines echoed across the ash-filled valleys. Jagged cliffsides and magma rivers melted into little more than shapes all around him as his eyes remained fixed on the shuttle pair in the far distance. The wind pulled at his clothes, doing little to lessen the extreme heat that permeated everything on Lialic.

How much he hated that blasted heat. He would give everything for one day when he wouldn't wake up in a shirt more drenched in sweat than it had been on the day before.

He had heard stories of a world that was the exact opposite of Lialic. A frozen world far removed from the galactic centre by the name of Hoth. It was calm, isolated, and above all, cold.

Fantasies of the place began to consume his thoughts; cold winds brushing against his face, icy beverages to ease thirst, sweetened and flavoured ice flake deserts. It all seemed too good to be true, but it would be, and soon too.

As he dreamed, his speeder bike slowly veered off course. Inattentive to the machine's whims, his control began to slip at dangerous speeds. Inch by inch the speeder's path drew closer to the ashy rocks of the massive valley it sped through. Closer and closer until -

Just in time, Adson veered the speeder back on course, his mind once again anchored in the present. He sighed his relief and shook away the chilled thoughts. Just a couple more clicks in this hellscape, and he was free. The shuttles were just at the end of this valley. If he simply -

An explosion rocked the ground beneath the speeder, a heated shockwave pummeling the underside of the bike. The combined force and heat of the blast disintegrated a majority of its hull into slag, tragically claiming Adson's life too. He, alongside most of the bike, was vaporized momentarily. The duffel bag that had sat on the engine's radiator, however, was flung high up into the air. Its loop caught on a jagged black rock protruding from the valley's cliff. The sudden jolt ripped open part of its cloth, suspending the device in a taut net of fibres. Its weight strained the material to its limits, small strings snapping here and there. It dangled precariously, threatening to fall into the fresh sea of molten rock that bubbled forth from the latest volcano addition to Lialic's surface just below.

How had this happened? Suddenly, she'd gone from just hefting crates around to... leading a conga line of people, all suffering in the heat, all trying desperately to pretend that they were absolutely fine. All gritted teeth and forced smiles. Maybe that was just her. I'm just projecting, I can tell. It's the heat.

"The droid parts go... uh... somewhere." She paused for a second, looking around the mass of crates, shuttles and confused helpers. "Maybe over there?" she suggested to Marae Tavlar , pointing to a small group of people who just seemed to be talking. "They're not doing anything. See if they'll take it. Maybe they'll have better ideas where to put 'em." I can think of a few places to shove them.

The green lady Gala Geert seemed keen to offset responsibility onto her, which would have been utterly hilarious if Serena hadn't been melting on a hell-hole planet. Lady, you wanna let me run this thing, we'd get a whole lot more done. She did notice the shiver of something when the word 'Jedi' was mentioned.

"What gave it away?" she asked, starting to lead them on the busy path down to the camp. The heat coming off the mass of people down there was starting to make the air shimmer and haze. "Must be all that inner peace and sereneness just floating right offa me." She sighed a little, grunting as she descended slowly. "If it makes you feel any better, I'm barely a Jedi. I haven't been training very long. No master, no flashy techniques, no lightsaber. That's why I'm here lifting crates and sweating like a Hutt. The cool Jedi get to be scribes for the Senate. Bet they have air conditioning," she grumbled, that last point turning into more of a jealous whisper to herself.

The sheer, oppressive heat turned a short hike down a hill into an endless, thankless drive, leaving Serena half-exhausted as she slammed ther crate down on a table. Breathing heavily, she paused for a second and mopped her brow. "Just... put 'em anywhere and we can start handing out the food. And... thanks. Honestly." At least they'd managed to get it down there, all without collapsing.

Somewhere in her head, an annoying voice told her that it was good for her to go through things like this. To sacrifice her comfort and time to help others.

True. But if I find whoever was supposed to organise this mess, I'm going to dangle them over the side of the Temple until they learn proper labelling.

Camo put down his crates, he had a succinct impression he had missed something, he'd never been the best at interpersonal skills, part of the reason he usually worked on his own. Either way the Corellian had moved the crates to where Serena Rylvin had directed, he wasn't however about to hand out food and medicine, he was here to keep order in the camp, to ensure himself and the fellow relief workers were safe, and the poor souls who reside here too.

The crowd has grown since droidgate, and had become restless in some sectors, Camo moved towards the rabble and began giving out instructions in a loud and clear voice "listen to me, to make this easier and quicker for you, and us, I need you all to get into two separate lines, this one here for food" Camo signalled to an area to the right of him, "and this one here for medical, if you require both you must return to the back of the other queue" Camo then changed his tone to that of one much sterner, "we will not tolerate any troublemakers, you will not request more than what you are allocated and when you have what you need you will vacate the area"

Camo waited for everyone to take what he had said on board then turned to the crate moving party he'd been part of, "ready ladies?"

"The suckers are still off-loading it." A nod towards the shuttle she put down stating the obvious, a great assistance to the Mirialan to be sure. "Well, the other suckers I guess." The cocksure attitude fading as she reassessed the droid parts once more, a small pout forming on her lips.

This box was heavy.

"I'm sure this planet is better than a first glance. I hear that cataclysm are romantic this time of year." A tooth grin responded to her own joke, ever the sign of thought out comedy. Clearly she was at least half right as a wink and a remark came from the green one, readjusting the droid parts in her arms as she spun on her heels to face Gala Geert . "Well good news then, Sweetpea. The Jacket comes off." A wink of her own returning the gesture.

Marae kind of wished she had it off now, truth be told. Heavy lifting and thick jackets didn't create the most weather-friendly outfit.

The concern over outerwear didn't last long, the reveal of a Jedi presumably the cause. The Dantooinian cocked her head around to stare at Serena in shock. It was her first time meeting a Jedi. Sure there were plenty in the GA, but the school for pilots hadn't exactly been littered with them.

"How's that Curls?" Stealing the nickname from Gala as she bumped into the Jedi, an excited face presenting itself. "Don't reckon you can lift these boxes with your mind, eh?" An attempt to rouse some humour out of the miserable girl, though maybe not the greatest way to go about it.

"Tavlary's here!" A chuckle to herself clearly confirmed her own sense of humour, though the miserable faces of both locals and workers clearly disagreed. Feth it, I'm funny. Self-reassurance always helped, though she still let her disappointment in the lack of laughter be known as she dropped the scrap parts on the ground with little care. "Oh no, my poor weak arms."

After rubbing her right arm a grand total of one time, Marae was satisfied with her utterly convincing performance. A step in the direction towards refreshment being once again interrupted, the call of duty again not giving her a choice in the matter.

"No problem, love. Relatively happy to help!" She mumbled through one of those words as Camo Orerig began to spout orders to the crowd, a commanding presence that admittedly impressed Marae a little. Though she wouldn't allow herself to show it. Rolling her shoulders back and puffing her chest out, a hand found it's way into a salute. The position could be considered mocking the size of the man and his commands, but Marae was willing to give her continued help for now. She enjoyed the crowds.

"Yes, sir."

As the Guide approached with the Device , Agent 66 began to imagine at the many ways he and his associates would utilize the device against their true enemies as it would give them a huge advantage over them. However as the Guide came closer a Volcanic Eruption occurred right below him instantly killing him and destroying the device. Suddenly all hope for a quick victory over his enemies were shattered as Agent 66 mouth was wide open as the Agent remained in shock and in disbelief.

The very weapon they intended to utilize was destroyed but , Agent 66 did not intend to give up now. As the eruption got worse , Agent 66 hurried back to their shuttles where one of them was destroyed by a large volcanic rock but yet there were no Casualties in terms of his Judgement Troopers and soon they boarded the Second Shuttle and headed straight for the Imperial Research Facility itself. Then Agent 66 contacted Admiral Sevenar to inform him of his progress.

"Admiral Sevenar we have a problem." Agent 66 began "Explain." Dorian said somewhat worried that the mission had been somewhat compromised. "Our collaborator got killed but not by Alliance Agents but by the treacherous forces of this Planet's Climate. The Device is gone and our only hope left is to head for the Research Facility and try to secure the other Devices or atleast seek the schematics for it. The only problem is that there will be probably Alliance Agents crawling around the place." Agent 66 said.

Dorian thought for a second. He could risk the mission by sending Agent 66 to the Research Facility and risk having Agent 66 and his Judgement Trooper run into Alliance Agents or he could withdraw and avoid any fight. However if he choose the latter his superiors would not be happy and all of this effort would have been done for nothing. So Dorian chose the former. "Aight Agent 66 you have permission to search the Research Facility. However do it quickly , we have Alliance ships probing Lialic's Airspace and it won't be long until they find out where my Ship is. So make no mistake Agent 66. Our Chairman is depending on us." Dorian ordered.

Agent 66 simply nodded. This mission was crucial and they needed that Device. For Agent 66 if they could find out about the origins of the Device or at least get their hands on a copy of it's schematics then they could consider the mission a success. Without the Device , Dorian Sevenar and Agent 66 would never be able to defeat their enemies who would maintain their momentum against their forces. To win they needed special weapons and without any Corporate Support , this was their only way. As the shuttle approached the Research Station Agent 66 hoped that everything went well as his superiors depended on the success of this mission to achieve victory over their enemies.

It was a race against time as both Dorian and Agent 66 were getting more and more worried. If the Alliance found out the mission would be over adding on to the pile of defeats suffered by Dorian and his associates. They needed the weapon and Dorian knew that he could not return to his superiors empty handed. As time flew Dorian hoped that everything would end well for him as this was an opportunity they could not lose. It was all or nothing.

 

[Saga of Valour]

It wasn't unexpected. The tectonic shifts in Lialic's damaged crust were unstable. Anyone who traversed the Plains was warned as such, and despite all of the preparations made - there were casualties. Thankfully, most of the GADF Personnel were saved from a fiery doom. The losses they suffered were more mechanical in nature. Several of the modified Chakram transports were struck by the sudden appearance of the molten geysers, a blow that clove through their deflector shields and tore into the armoured hull. Those that were able to dodge the sudden and inexplicable build-up of pressure continued onwards in the hopes of finding their missing Guide, and the device they carried. Those that weren't able to continue found themselves rescued by several modes of transport of the local variety.

However, what made things interesting was that it wasn't just the Locals or the GADF suffering from the tectonic eruptions. It turns out - there was a small selection of Imperials that managed to sneak themselves onto the planet. They were likely the ones waiting for the stolen device, having somehow coerced the local Guide to betray his people to garner a better future. As they survived the molten vengeance of the planet, it seemed they elected to take to the air instead - spearing straight towards the research facility in the hopes of claiming something. However, in their haste - it seemed they forgot or seemingly didn't care about the roving squadrons of starfighters that patrolled the restricted airspace. Thus, when their shuttles took to the skies - several starfighters zeroed in on their location with their weapons primed.

Amongst this ad-hoc Squadron's number was one of REC's newest B-wing variants - which sported a considerable array of weapons. As the Fighter homed in on the Shuttle, it's Pilot locked their S-foils into attack position and felt their control yokes thrum with the distant, but subtle sounds of their weapons priming. They smiled at that moment, as their canopy filled with roving targeting solutions - all of which began concentrating on the Unauthorized Shuttle spearing straight towards the secured Research Facility. When they converged together with a pleasant, echoing chime, the Pilot opened fire. They had no choice. Hails weren't answered, and their transponder was dark. In many respects, the Shuttle was treated as hostile - especially after failing to respond to the hails that demanded the Shuttle cut its thrust and remove itself from restricted territory.

So, as the facility came within sight and the Shuttle loomed ever closer, the B-wing Pilot opened fire with their heavy Ion cannons. They sought to disable the Shuttle's systems by rapidly overloading the shield generator's capacitors, and the transport thereafter - once the barriers collapsed.

If by some Force-born miracle, the Shuttle continued towards the facility - the transport would find itself engaged by additional fighters, of varying makes and models. Their supporting firepower would be enough to take down even the hardiest of shuttles with relative ease. Also - as the Starfighters converged on their target - the Garrison that secured the Research Facility was alerted. They were of the approaching Shuttle and how it waived away any and all transmissions - and breached their security cordon. Several portable warhead launchers were shouldered, as the GADF personnel manned the proverbial parapets. Magpulse munitions were loaded into the firing chamber, and the shoulder-mounted launchers were directed towards their approaching target. They made their choice. Whoever these individuals were - it was highly unlikely that they'd see the light of day ever again. For only two fates awaited them now. Death at the hands of the Alliance, which would come if they continued to approach the facility. Or a life behind bars after they were brought into Alliance custody.

With such a fate laid out before the unwanted intrusion - all that remained was to see which possible outcome became a reality.​

It had begun. Dorian Sevanar knew that returning to the Research Facility was more risky then withdrawal , but he needed results. As Agent 66's Shuttle approached the Facility , Alliance B-Wings quickly intercepted the shuttle and immediately attacked it. However as the shuttle did it's best to evade the B-Wings , more fighters joined the frey eventually shooting down the shuttle as it hurled towards the Research Facility. However before the Shuttle was shot Agent 66 was able to send a message to Dorian Sevanar notifying that they had been intercepted and were going down.

Knowing that their cover had been blow Dorian knew that he could not remain hidden for that much longer. With his agents under attack and their shuttle downed he needed to contribute ever single resource he had available to him to counter-attack. Hence as he received the message Admiral Sevanar quickly moved into action. "Have our Intercessors jump out of Hyperspace and attack any Alliance Craft in orbit and deploy every fighter Squadron we have. We need to reinforce our guys on the surface and send gunships to get them out. We must move quickly for there will be more Alliance forces that will move in quickly."

Soon enough , the Enforcer revealed itself followed by the two Intercessors Jumping out of hyperspace to join the frey. As soon as all Three Ships were in position , they opened fire on the MC140 Cruiser orbiting the Planet with the Enforcer firing a volley of it's main batteries followed by the Intercessors firing their Ion Railguns and Assault Concussion Missiles enough firepower to potentially destroy the MC140. Meanwhile Sevanar's own Fighters were scrambled with K-Wings and Gunships being rapidly deployed with half of the K-Wings and the Gunships being sent to the Surface to pick up Agent 66 while the rest stayed with Sevanar's Fleet.

Meanwhile on the surface , Agent 66's Shuttle crash landed right in the middle of the Research Facility but fortunately Agent 66 and his men managed to survive the impact and emerge from the debris of the Shuttle. Quickly they activated their Cloaking Devices and planted grenades within the Shuttle. They were going to blow it up to make it look like they perished and then hide within one of the rooms within the Research Facility. Given that their Personal Cloaking Devices were activated it would be way easier for them to avoid the Alliance.

The Battle had really begun , and the mission was at risk. Hopefully , Agent 66 and his men would complete their mission quickly as K-Wings and Gunships rushed to their Rescue. Dorian watched as his forces attacked the Alliance. If they were lucky enough , he would escape with something valuable atleast. But with the Alliance on them it would be hard for them to make it out of this , however nothing was impossible.

Was sweet pea attributed to the hue of her skin? The jacket was coming off. "I'll alert the presses. I like to read my paper the morning after."

The Jedi were in the senate now? Her brow arched, and lips twisted at the realization. Had the government learned nothing from their last attempts to befriend the Jedi? Were they so short sighted to think things wouldn't happen once more? Truly, Jedi were useful on the battlefield. Gala preferred that to be the extent of their involvement. But they didn't pay her to voice those kind of opinions, so she'd keep that to herself until she was high or drunk. She didn't say anything, but she liked the sassiness of the Jedi more than any of the can-do heroes she'd met to date.

Were they ever going to call each other something other than nicknames?

Truth be told, they also didn't pay Gala to create relationships beyond her immediate squadron. Nor did she care to. It'd end up being more funerals she'd feel a pang of guilt about missing.

At some point, she'd acquired a crate alongside everyone else and was grunting and misstepping like the rest of them. Once a slope was introduced to their route, things got all the more tedious and she missed her jetpack.

"Are the fumes getting to you, flygirl? We're hardly a calvary, though appreciate you thinking we're angelic."

Thankfully someone, The Ranger, was willing to take responsibility in this group. Between him and the Jedi they'd at least get something organized here. Already people were collecting to line up and receive the charity The Alliance offered. "Aye aye, Ranger Rick." Another nickname for the collection.

Finding a nearby crowbar, a primitive tool, she cracked open the crates one by one for each of them. Except Marae's because it was useless. Medical supplies were in Serena's, and foodstuffs were in Camo's. Hers had liquidation packets, which she eyed greedily.

One hundred percept over the effort they were exerting, she glanced at her chrono once more. Dismayed that only minutes had passed since she last looked at it. She huffed out her irritation and wrung out the hem of her tank that had collected a cloud of sweat. Everything about her was glistening; if anyone tried to catch her she'd surely slip from their grip. "Who provides relief for the relief?" She murmured, twisting her ponytail into another level, knotting the bun atop her head and fanning her neck. "I'd rather be suspended than doing this right now."

Someone stared at her, their gaze begging for water packets.

"You and me both, lady." She murmured, reaching in and handing one to the woman. One per person for now. There were limited instructions to this chaotic effort, but the words themselves were clear.

Camo smirked at the varied responses to his organizational commands. They were fully expected from the interactions between the group members already, Ranger Rick was his favourite so far, he'd been called much worse before. He moved up and down the lines of civilians checking for anything that caught his eye. There wasn't anything of note, just a whole lot of desperation.

He made his way back up to the main relief area to make sure everything was going smoothly this end, as he had expected it was. As he made a sweep around the rear of the aiders he couldn't help but hear the mutterings of the green member of the relief crew, Camo moved so that he was standing slightly behind her, facing the throngs of people waiting for their turn.

"I think we just get forgotten about" he joked in response to her earlier query, "Oh and I'd prefer Camo if I'm honest although Ranger Rick does have quite the ring to it" he laughed as he continued to speak to her, "what was your name again? I didn't catch it earlier" he was pretty sure it hadn't been mentioned but you never know he could have missed it in the kerfuffle.

Emmen closes his eyes and lets out a soft breath, casting another glance to his entourage. To those on the Podium, his frustration might be more apparent in the nuanced expressions on his face. But from afar, his demeanor remains unwavering. His eyes follow the delegations as they claim the floor, but he speaks to his Office members gathered close to him.

"We can't allow for the vote to be tabled," he speaks quietly to the three behind him, "the people need results, lest we fall into the same pit as the democracies that came and fell before us. We must get pen to paper, even if it means another damned committee overseeing it."

The olive branch of reverse engineering brings Emmen's attention to Auteme, "Is this true, Ms. Denko-Durren? And, if so, how complicated would such a practice be? The opposition will certainly push back against high costs. I can allocate some federal funding through the Ministry of Commerce, but it would only make it worse for the administration if something did go wrong."

His eyes rise over the small padawan and back to Mina, his friend and trusted advisor, "We must be careful. Firm, but careful. I will try to get the vote back in motion for Clone Rights to buy time. Run the numbers -- I need to know if it is feasible for the New Jedi Order to handle re-integration."

Composing himself and allowing the final statements to conclude, Emmen steps forward to his microphone again.

"The Podium claims the floor once more," he waits for silence, "honourable Senator of Kalist; with respect, I am personally against a delay. With our intentions made public, each passing day without legislation put in place allows those who might disagree with this motion to relocate their assets so that they may undermine our legal system. We risk the lives and safety of sentient clones by delaying this most urgent vote unnecessarily."

The Chancellor's attention turns from the repulsorpod of Senator Solborne to the convocation chamber at large, "If we are to distinguish ourselves from the systems that have failed the Core in the past, we must prove ourselves to be efficient and decisive. That is not to be mistaken for careless. Our decisions must always be made carefully and with great thought -- but it is our responsibility as public servants to understand that shelving a bill, while inconsequential to many of us, can have lasting and potentially devastating effects on the people who look to us for guidance."

Emmen clasps his hands together, "The Podium motions to resume the vote. On the matter of evaluation, an oversight committee can be established to set the guidelines we will use for our process. The Podium will accept votes in sequence, verbal or digital, on the follow matters: 1) Establishing Clone Rights; 2) banning the production of sentient clones; and 3) banning the production of non-sentient clones bearing the likeness of sentient beings."

Had been conversing with his staff for nearly the entirety of the debate, remaining silent on each issue and comment raised "Isss thisss acceptable to the familiesss?" he hissed quietly to his chief of staff who nodded in affirmation "Yes, Senator, they are behind your decision." the great serpent nodded its head slowly "I ssssee." with the votes coming the Filithar turned to the others in the convocation chamber and announced "Eclipsssse votes to approve the creation of Clone Rightssss and Liberitiesss." he let his voice fade before speaking again "Eclipsssse votessss no to the prohibition on production of ssssentient clonesss. Additionally voting no on the prohibition on production of non-ssssentient clonessss bearing a likenesssss of ssssentient beingssss."

Sssar looked towards Adhira Chandra then towards Julius Loghain "My colleaguessss make reassssonable argumentssss for both ssssidessss, however, it issss my belief that we can have both the continuation of production programssss and the civil libertiessss. The outright refussssal to create such asssssetssss to ssssociety issss not acceptable. Neither issss the antiquated idea that the clonessss are not due protection under the law nor should be afforded autonomy." he looked now towards the Chancellor Emmen Tagge and Shute Gunray "On the topic of a droid army I cannot ssssee the benefitssss. There are no ssssubssstantial droid armiessss in usssse among the Galactic powerssss today, and it issss unwisssse to believe that there issss not a reasssson for thissss. Furthermore the environmental devasssstation that would be brought onto many worldssss and asssstrogeophical locationssss is unacceptable to fuel the undoubtedly ressssource intenssssive war machine."

He looked around to the rest of the Senators and gathered guests "Can we think of no other, greater, usssse of our fissssical and material wealth? Perhapssss may I sssuggessst the continuation of the rebuilding processsss for the core? Healing old woundssss ssssoundssss far more appropriate to me than inviting new onessss." his golden eyes turned to the Chancellor "Eclipsssse yieldssss." He knew that his statements may have offended some of his closer political allies, though his priorities were on infrastructure for obvious reasons.

That was better. It was a start and a proper proposal with written down, concrete things to vote on. That was what mattered. With an oversight committee established and the law given teeth, that made an actual difference. It wasn't voting on a vague idea. She rested back in the senatorial pod and rubbed her temples.

Her aide handed her a cup of caf which she sipped gratefully. As far as she was concerned, that was the end of the debate and the discussion. Others were still giving speeches and debating, but she was drained and worn. This Senate needed whipping into shape if it was actually going to matter in the long run. The role of the legislation was to create and enact laws. Laws were written down and voted into effect. After which, it was the responsibility of the chancellor's office to ensure the executive and judicial branches of the government were capable of ensuring that they were followed.

She pulled up the voting program.

Mina noted the time that Senator Solborne would need to obtain support for her motion had passed and the other Senators began to debate around her without much fuss. Certainly, a smoother transition than she had expected in the Senate, but it was not an unwelcome one. As the debates continued amongst the legislators, Emmen had started to make some of his own moves. She was careful to deafen the podium mics so they could speak freely and the camera projected each Senator speaking instead of the Chancellor's podium. It was very common to see the Chancellor huddle briefly at the podium during debates, but she loved the rumors they seemed to start.

"There's likely already some unallocated funds for something like this in Commerce, Emmen. I'll schedule a meeting with Minister Rebus tomorrow morning," she interjected, fingers like lightning as they darted around her dataslate. When the Chancellor asked her to run the numbers on the plan involving the Jedi, she made a face, hoping he had not mistaken her for a logic droid. Though she did excel at long-form computing.

"Yes, I- well you see here, I've had to make up some of the numbers as we dont know the skill level of the Jedi in this area, the exact number of clones or the ideal clone to jedi ratio, but if we make our best logical guess for each..." she continued to strum her fingers along with the transparent pad until a final number appeared on the screen that seemed to make her satisfied. "Hm. Yes. Based on these incomplete figures, it does seem possible..."

Mina showed him the data and then stood aside as the mics were undefeaned and debate was silenced once more by the Chancellor's booming voice. The elder politician smiled discreetly at Auteme for her quick thinking.

Faith understood very well what it was that Emmen Tagge referred to it was in the past but it lingered around anything resembling The Republic casting its shadowy finger and leaving those touched by it with a chill. He wanted to show strength to the galaxy no weakness or inability to get a resolution passed that provided benefit.

There was a caution to be voiced perhaps....expanding too fast also had consequences. But that was a conversation for another day, not today. She was going to have to make a list on all the discussions to be had. The other question would come soon enough it always reared its ugly head.

She knew how she felt about Clones and their rights otherwise why offer to take those who needed shelter in on Alderaan. It wasn't some grand gesture it was the right thing to do.

She looked at the voting program and knew what the vote should be

1) Establishing Clone Rights; - Alderaan votes yes to Clone Rights
2) Banning the production of sentient clones; - Alderaan votes yes to banning the production of sentient beings

Objective III - Imperial Remnants & Where to Find Them

Carolina Tevinter was seated in her senatorial pod along with the rest of the delegation from the Azure System. Anaxes had served as the training ground for the advanced reconnaissance commandos of the Imperial Core Confederation. When the latter disintegrated, many clones were left stranded on Anaxes and Axum.

Well-trained soldiers without structure or purpose were far too dangerous to be left to their own devices. Figuring out what to do with these clones was an important issue. Answering the question if they had the rights afforded to all sentinent lifeforms was a good start. Carolina keyed in her vote on the first item.

1.) Establishing Clone Rights; - Azure system votes Yes.

This answer came easy. During these early days the foundation for a more democratic union needed to be laid.

She couldn’t support the language of the second and third proposals. There was nuance to be hammered out. She wasn’t certain if the Galactic Alliance could afford to avoid resorting to the use of cloning technology to in the future. There were too many threats out there. Carolina keyed in her vote on the last two items.
