Quote: "Those who want peace should prepare for war and be strong."
Still. Silence.
No one had come. In all this time of being on the planet, no one had come to investigate the signal that she was almost constantly giving off by directing the ground forces. It was seconds, mere seconds, that passed when the data-pad started chiming to let her know that she had more incoming notifications. She kept the small tablet close. It would only open with her biometrics but it was still a very dangerous item to lose. She began to get a clearer picture of the battlefield.
There were starfighter units doing a flyover of the FOB [[member="Keira Cerdulan"] & [member="Nyx N1X3"]] and the surrounding area. Silver eyes flickered over the intel and she nodded her head slowly. “Understood, Good work. Stay on them. For every Confederate we lost…Punish them.”, her brief, clipped response, would filter through the comm system to both pilots. It took her a moment to see what was happening but eventually, it clued in. She was Echani. Combat was in her blood.
She knew what it looked like to see someone shaping a battlefield.
The silvery Exarch noted that General [member="Azmodan"] had indeed landed. She didn’t know if he had taken any casualties upon entry, however, she did know that his Xarixi Corps were ready and willing to fight. Initially, she had been uncertain of the state on the ground. It wasn’t as if they could easily infiltrate when everyone was being shuffled off-world. But, every second, every minute, with boots on the ground for Tanaab meant that they were actively learning.
The Hospital that the Mandalorians seemed hell-bent on protecting had been militarized to every degree. It was no longer simply a house healing, but a bastion of strength, and a source of Pride for the Clans. It gave them something to fight for. Something to die for. Something to protect—Till the very last. If she felt like giving the leaders of the enemy any credit she would have admitted that it was pretty smart. Villanize the enemy, as if they really needed any help in that department, and then place something helpless in their way. A hospital. The sick. The infirmed.
When she tapped back into her comm her eyes were filled with steel. “Press forward General [member="Azmodan"]. Noncombatants within the secondary hospital shield should be spared, however, do what you must to destroy their offensive line. This is the largest military installation on the planet. I’ve transmitted the aerial view. Plan accordingly—don’t get boxed in.”
The Resolve had come to solidify their efforts. The great shadow of the SSD moved and parked itself directly above Pandath. Good. [member="Voph"] was doing exactly as she had hoped and provided even more data that she forwarded on to the rest of the ground forces in regards to enemy troop movements and positioning. She could see that the SSD was under fire. It was moving to a new position and no longer retained a hold straight above the city. As this happened…She could feel her child wake. The drop pod was far enough away that she could see it, however, it seemed that he couldn’t find her. So small must she be to his eyes. But, he was hers. Just like her dragons on Ryloth—[member="Garza"] belonged with her. She could feel it in her bones. “The details have been delivered to the rest of the Grounders. The FOB has received your reinforcements.”
<<I’m here…Right here.>>, she called, through the Force, to the gigantic lizard.
Srina could see him snatch enemy assets and smash them together like a youngling playing with toys. They crumpled, burning, and the white-haired came to her feet. Her presence in the Force grew while her datapad informed her that communications with the Resolve would be temporarily cut. [member="Garza"] would feel her. Just as every living thing within his vicinity would feel him. Phantom screams would drive away smaller wildlife while sentient life would have a difficult time dealing with an aura that seemed designed to drive bystanders to insanity. Srina was an Exarch, Darth Omnia, but before that, long before that, she had been known as the Dread Queen. She did not fear Garza. No matter his size, bite, or roar.
She remained silent while the lumbering creature made his way toward her. It wasn’t pretty, but, he did have the presence of mind to gather up a small yellow creature. Mercurial eyes stirred. What was with him and the little bird? He could have eaten in, crushed it, or ignored it. Instead, it seemed to follow wherever the titan went. A misplaced sense of family, perhaps?
As Garza stopped before her the Exarch allowed her body to rise with the use of telekinesis. She settled in his mighty clawed palm and waited. He lifted her, holding her at eye level, and she leaned forward to rest against the side of his snout. <<I am here.>>, Srina reassured, eyes closing, briefly, while the silent bond they maintained spoke volumes.
She wished for violence against her enemies.
Garza would grant it.
Her datapad interrupted her with two notifications. The first relayed an extraordinary amount of starfighters that had been brought to aid the Clans [member="Mittens"] and the second spoke of an incoming ship to her location [[member="Naast'ika Laaran"]]. It didn’t share a Confederate IFF. It was…Strange. The Fortressa was deploying droid piloted units to deal with the incoming waves, however, it was intense. <<It isn’t our friend. The Mechanicum Star Core has been detonated…Things in space must be difficult. We must win here so that we can support our people from the ground.>>
Our people. They belonged to Srina—And thus [member="Garza"].
Her Master was moving. She could feel his presence wrap around her like a thick, soft blanket, that echoed of the dreaming dark. He had his minions. Srina knew the feel of his power, the flavor of the Force as it passed through him, and the silvery creature closed her eyes briefly. She knew his tenants. There was nothing he would not sacrifice, nothing, he would not do to ensure the security of their nation. Dark languages rose in her psyche…
A storm was coming. It was not a metaphor. Thunder rolled…And she knew the wrath of [member="Darth Metus"] would sweep through their enemies. The Clans could hide from many things. Not from this.
Per [member="Alkor Centaris"]…The Confederates had been given clearance to land? To began employing their main invasion forces? How he’d pulled that off she wasn’t entirely sure, however, it would go a long way to securing victory if it was true. There was also news from [member="Karsan Calnov"]. He’d a punched a hole in the turbolaser network. It would make things that much simpler to advance from a ground perspective. They had breached the city shield…Srina kept up to date, however, she suddenly had her own problems.
The strange ship that had been noted had dropped low and was now circling the massive form of her child whilst she stood tall in his hand [[member="Naast'ika Laaran"]] . Not only that, however, her own reinforcements had arrived. A voice poured through her comms whilst she eyed another ship that dropped off a substantial amount of soldiers and manpower. She recognized the voice. [member="Visanj T'shkali"]. “You have excellent timing…I will use these men well.”
“Watch the unidentified ship.”, she told the soldiers, expecting, that they would have some long-range weaponry available. The two starfighters she had left began to circle around as well. If the ship looked like it was going to fire—They would fire back. “And keep a perimeter around the area. Constant comm contact.”
Beyond that…Her comms had started chattering immediately.
The shield that surrounded Pandath City had gone down. The first shield was down!
As precarious as her own position suddenly was, with an unknown ship acting like a strange, slowly moving vulture, she couldn’t help but feel a stark sense of satisfaction with their combined efforts. She helped to organize, orchestrate, but the work on the ground belonged to their troops. This was their victory.
And it would be—Victory. There was no prize at the end. No trophy. No smiling faces…But there would be a step in the correct direction for security. A foothold for a quieter, peaceable, galaxy.
The odds were flickering every moment. Srina still held faith, regardless, and fell on a typical mantra. They would push through. Depend on each other. They always did—and it always worked in the end.
