Objective: 1

(Kind of confused about the block. But I will roll with it.)

While his opponent grew more and more enraged, he proved his skills lay in ferocious lightsaber combat. Were it not for his physique, and Enhanced muscle, he would be less than prepared for this one. But his mind always took in information, allowing him to spot blows as they came, and usually how to fend them off.

When the blow to his leg came, he let it connect, but again used it to his advantage. Already in a forward motion, bending at the knee, when the kick hit, all it did was allow more momentum to complete the drop. Sliding around 360 degrees, he watched the man end feet away...

...then begin swinging as if he was within arms reach. (Lol. Going by what you said.) While he neared, lightsaber swinging, Alpha reached out mentally again, to use a much more powerful attack. This time instead of simply creating a wave of dizziness amongst other things, he attempted to shut everything down all at once.

Force Stasis. It had no real weaknesses, though a person strong enough, could fight against the sensation - though this was taxing beyond normal Force Stun. In essence, it would lock a persons muscles, freeze all thought, even the base necessities such as breathing were halted.

A person was basically frozen in time when hit with stasis.

No one to use this ability had been such as he though, a being born of Force creating means. With a high count of midichlorians, he was hardly more than a powerful intellect, with a fast mind. This allowed him to channel more power behind his attacks than others, faster to.

With all of his concentration on the stasis, he waited to see if the man would freeze.

The mental approach had worked the first time, the second time, Varus knew what was in store for him, it wouldn't have the same effect, not this time. His movements slowed, as did his body, but he kept himself moving, the anger and willpower keeping his mind's fortifications strong. He did his best to keep his defense up taking steps backwards before he did the most logical thing he could against a Jedi. Even as the voice of who he once was howled in defiance, Varus reached out with the force and crushed the windpipe of the man the Dark Armored Jedi intended to use as a guide. Even the momentary lack in focus caused by the feeling of his death in the force or the stormtroopers moving in and firing and the Jedi would provide more than enough of a distraction, or serious injury/death if he didn't block the shots.

Varus moved in once again, this time his attack was simple, he raised his saber above his head and brought it down in a vicious falling avalanche attack. Form V had become a new favorite of his, even with his connection and midichlorian count increased by some means thanks to Sieger's wisdom he still was not ever going to be a mentalist fighter, and would never fight at a range with anything but a blaster, but the fighting style he'd once avoided had become all the more appealing as his strength bolstered.

OBJECTIVE: 6, BYOO (Find and Destroy Darkside Temple/Cult)
LOCATION: Capital City
ENEMIES: Team Darkside

Over the millennia, force based cults have existed on Lothal and fought other cults. Before Palpatine brought the Empire to Lothal, the Jedi had built several temples for Masters and their Padawans to train at. In that era, the darkside cults were at a low, the presence of Jedi kept darksiders away. In the Imperial Era, however, the Jedi were eradicated. Some of their temples were destroyed or subverted, while others remained hidden. Both the Grand Inquisitor and Darth Vader visited the planet to stomp out sparks of resistance, and their mere presence gave the extant, small darkside cults powerful figures to revere. Now, long after the fall of the Empire of Palpatine and the deaths of both the Inquisitor and Darth Vader, those cults still revere the 'Bringers of Darkness' and have grown in power. They remain hidden, but powerful. Their fingers stretch into many pies across the surface of Lothal. So, while some come to Lothal to hunt for Kyber crystals of various sizes and strength, and others to secure and rebuild the centers of learning, Harmon was going to put his skills to the test hunting down darksiders.

Harmon's hunt had brought him to Capital City, home to two buildings that represented diametrically opposed ideologies, the Imperial Compound and the Republic Senate buildings. His past in his home planets' mercenary corps had given him some skill in gathering information in taverns and cantinas, used in order to find prospective clients. Through use of those skills and some greasing of palms, Harm had learned that a temple devoted to the darkside with access through the old Imperial Compound building. Harm moved back to his ship and changed out of his street clothes and into his newest set of armor, throwing a coat over it and headed out to the Imperial Compound.

With a stretch, the boy reached back in a quite limber display.

With a sigh, he popped forward and let his body relax. Kneeling down to the sidewalk, the Nautolan child picked up the datapad-comlink. Cycling through the HoloNet downloads, the boy began browsing the videos he'd stashed away for reference and practice. There was 'Byss, Please' by Gunganlicious... or 'Forcebreaker' by They Might Be Jawas...

As the boy landed on one video in particular, he paused. A quick press of his thumb queued up the video, while a tap of the side of the comlink dialed up the music to maximum volume.

https://youtu.be/5hEh9LiSzow
The first notes hit as the boy was standing back up.

Shuffling back into position, the Nautolan youngling checked his reflection in the mirror-like glass. Letting the rhythm take over, his head moved from side to side, the motion carried to his shoulders, until his whole upper body was in motion. Then the beat for quiet, and he froze in place.

Bass snare.

Snapping to the right, the boy stretched out his his arms as he popped-and-locked to one side. Freeze. Snare. Bring it back. Snare. Lock. Freeze. The music quiet, as the volume slowly builds...

Dropping with the beat, the small green youth kicked his legs out as he dipped down, flipped, then kicked out a second time. Back up. Pop and lock to the side, moonwalk it back. Shuffle. Down. Up. Side. Lock.

His feet danced, a flurry of motion as he swayed in time to the music. His arms keeping with the motion. Popping to the right, the boy brushed the dirt off an imaginary collar, before reversing the motion and taking it back to the other side. All the while, people mulled about the star port. Some stopped to gape or stare, but the Nautolan couldn't have been arsed to notice.

He was lost to the music, and taking in the reflection to see what worked and what didn't.

Tiland looked behind him in surprise as someone bumped into him, nearly knocking him over. That was unexpected and he leaned on his staff to view the individual, who had been staring at a datapad, seemingly lost in through.

"Well met, traveler," Tiland said after a moment, pulling lightly on his beard, "What takes you so deep in thought?"

Something felt familiar about the other person, something not unlike himself. If anything, he seemed strangely still and cold. Almost like a living corps. Or... Tiland's throat constricted. Almost like an Anzati. It had been a long time since he had come across one of his kindred, and it had certainly not been in a Jedi temple. No, as far as he could remember, the last he had met had been on Coruscaunt when they raided the temple, and that had not been a meeting. Their presences had met, nothing more, and from opposite sides of a battlefield.

"I am Tiland Kortun," He said with a slight bow, "Nomadic Jedi. Who might you be?"

He didn't think twice as he moved forwards into the cave, using the force to pick up the staff he entered the cave. He didn't know what was going on but whatever it was he had to think like a jedi now, the very thought of that even was alien to him. "Let the force guide you, it's your companion not your tool." He said to himself, a mantra he had begun to recite to himself when he was meditating in the garden of the temple, the only place within the structure he had felt calm and at ease of late. 'Come now is that what you truly believe?' That voice again, so strong in his head that he was beginning to believe it was in fact all in his head. Was he cracking up? No, he wouldn't believe that, all of this must be something else, a trick of some kind.
"Shut up! What is this anyway?!" He shouted out into the air as he walked deeper into the cave, stopping as he came to fork in the road so to speak. 'Now, now don't throw a tantrum and I'm the one asking the questions here, so be patient.' By the force this voice was annoying it kept distracting him and when it finally did go silent the enviroment seemed to have changed like he lost a few seconds every moment the voice began to speak. And now? Now he was faced with three choices, up, down and straight ahead. "Great now what?" He said to himself and he was beginning to think he was actually acknowledging the voice now. 'Now before your are simple choices, The jedi, the sith or the in between which will you take?' "And which is which?" He shouted out into the cave but when there was no answer he let his hands fall down against his sides as he looked around and then sighed loudly. "Schutta..." He then whispered to himself before he looked towards the pathway's. "So up the jedi, straight ahead the middle ground, down the sith? Really? that seems too easy..." He said to himself but then again what if he took the middle road? could he walk the precarious path between sith and jedi? was that even possible? Or simply another trap by a new voice in his head. He brought his hands up to his eyes and loudly exhaled his frustration.
"Ugh, ok, ok, Trust the force, trust the force. Show me the way to go, what do you have in store for me?" He said to himself as he let it in, opened the floodgates allowed the force in as much as he could. Sometimes his inherent resistance to the force was both a blessing and a curse at times, but not now, now the force flowed into him and it was telling him to go.... back?

It was lucky that Chevu Visz wasn’t too claustrophobic because currently the Mirialan Jedi Marshal was squeezing through a tight bend in an unexplored subterranean tunnel deep under the Academy for Young Imperials. It wasn’t clear to her yet, just what this passage of no-man’s land was meant for. Was it natural cenote? A former transit system? A blast shelter? It wasn’t obvious yet.

Her best guess so far was that perhaps the hidden caves were part of a series of smuggling tunnels. With Lothal under Imperial Rule throughout much of its history, Chevu imagined that weapons would need to get in and people to get out. She kept her Force sense sharp, but so far had not detected much life, aside from the occasional Loth-rat nest. Her BB-8 Unit, Two Bit rolled along beside her trying his best to keep his excited beeping to a dull roar. Chevu had become quite attached to her astromech of late, especially with Coren and Porter gone. Two Bit went everywhere with her, even creepy underground labyrinths.

Her heart drummed in her chest as she shimmed through a too-tight crevice, and only her love of exploration could quell it. The Academy’s vaults were around here somewhere. What would she find?

Nubica had visited a few caves in her time. Ilum was one, and although she collected a crystal there, it hadn’t resonated with her, which is why she hadn’t used it in her saber.

Cold was often a challenge and despite the mild atmosphere, she was only steps in when she felt the drop in temperature. She trusted her Padawan would find her, he was the resourceful type after all.

So she cracked a glow-stick and as her eyes get accustomed to the dimness, she was aware that – like most caves she’d visited – luminous lichen lined the walls and provided low light, but it was barely enough to see by.

So she started to walk, slowly at first. And finally she reached a large cavern that seemed to curve to the right. It must have been eight hundred metres in diameter. Continuing to be wary of her footing she kept up a regular pace.

As she turned the corner, she saw an exit from the section she was in. Unlike the walls she stood beside, the entrance glowed white. She felt the disturbance in the Force now. After an hour of walking through the caves, she must have found where the crystals were. She reached to her bag involuntarily, making sure she still had the components for her lightsaber.

"I'd appreciate that, actually," Jules replied to the apparently-Jedi, but he felt somewhat like he'd fallen off to the wayside of peoples' attention.

He wandered up to the speeder then, not paying much attention to the two, their awkward exchange, or the lizard that had a tendency to stare at people. With the two lights shining, he had plenty of view on the engine compartment to get an idea of what they were all working with.

"Looks like an overgrown swoop engine..." he muttered to himself, and started fiddling with components to see how right he was. Turned out that the speeder was, in fact, basically an overgrown swoop with far fewer modifications.

Jules had taught himself around an engine because he'd be shot before he let droids work on anything, so with a vague sense of familiarity he grabbed out his own torch and poked around through what he could see from the top. Up here, nothing looked out of place except for a corroded wire or two, but that shouldn't make the speeder smoke. Maybe act funny sometimes but not stop working completely. With a frustrated huff, he climbed up onto the edge of the engine compartment and wedged himself in such a way that he was able to see into the bigger gaps. Around the girl's arm, he could see something loose. It wiggled when her fingertips grazed it, but that might only be making it worse.

"A little deeper, and to the right. I can get it if you need me to." he offered, advice and potential aid.

“Oh, reach in there will ya?” Kaile would ask Jules, one bright smile directed at him in gratitude. Well wasn’t this all kinds of cozy?!

Bobo wasn’t quite sure what he thought of the situation, especially since he had to go back and forth between Jules and Jacen to make sure neither were up to anything foolish.

Jules’ fingers would manage to wrap round exactly where Kaile was trying to get. A bit of a twist and some tightening should do it.

“Ain’t it a bit late to go out spelunking?” she’d ask them both, amusement dancing in her eyes. One was flustered, and it was kinda cute. “Or is there some kind of shindig get together ya’ll Jedai are doing?”

They’d been known to do a little kumbayah and such.

"Not a problem," Jacen replied. "Entrance is just a few hundred metres that way. I'm Jacen by the way," he said, waving in the direction he'd approached from. If they looked carefully they might see a dull glow from the lights he'd left running in the entrance.

He turned to the girl as she looked up, keeping his torch out of her eyes. "Truth be told I'm just not on Lothal time yet. Light doesn't get underground anyway and I don't need much light to work it. I can feel my surroundings with the Force, but I still can't feel you..."

The Marshal was reasonably relaxed, there were no strong warnings of an immediate threat through the Force. But this gap where she should be was confounding him.

The Count smirked when the Jedi Master challenged him to single combat. ''I must admit, I've long awaited the opportunity to face a Jedi Master in single combat.........very well, you shall have your duel. En garde!'', he said eagerly, drawing the curved lightsaber hilt from his belt before igniting the red beam, moving the blade in front of himself in a Makashi stance of his own. It seemed this would be a fair fight.....

Meanwhile, his droids had already located the crystal chamber, and after capturing a few leftover dig site workers, had begun setting up a signal beacon to inform the First Order of the crystal's precise location, along with turret defenses in the central chamber. A hole in the ceiling of the cavern was created with a few precise detonation charges, allowing for several squads of BX-series Droid Commandos armed to the teeth to hoist themselves down via rope to the cavern below. And they were followed by four far more dangerous droids, IG-100 Magnaguards specifically prepared to deal with any stray Jedi that might come for the Crystal the Count prized so highly.

Just before the Storm Troopers were breaching the woods, dual squadrons of Rebel Troops breached from the opposite side, with enough for a lieutenant to call out, "Zane! Remember, we can't fly! Go a bit slower! We need to keep up with our Hound!"

But this was unheard, as his sensors were not locked on in that direction. Nor was the death of the man. It might have, had his entire concentration not been on the Stasis field. When battle ensued between his squads and the platoon of Troopers, he continued ignoring his surroundings.

It was him and his opponent. Nothing else mattered until he was defeated! When he fought slowly against the Stasis, Alpha pushed more of his power into the attack, wanting to full stop the man. He was slower now, but not stopped. As well, he was not a mentalist; one not trained specifically to stop a mental attack, versus one who was most prone to such styles wasn't a battle that could be won.

The closer his opponent got, he drew up his blade to swing, and Alpha stepped further away. He would not be cut while trying to complete the attack.

"You know, Varus, the higher ups figured you'd be done by now. The others need assistance, not you wasting your time here." Over the com in Varus's ear spoke none other than Kage. The Vong shaped soldier was currently running through the forest, pistol in hand. True to the serum in his veins, he was booking it at incredible speeds. It wouldn't take him long to get close to the location, and due to his Vong Shaping history, not even the powerful mentalist would be able to know he was coming. That was the fun thing about being Vong Shapped. Force Users couldn't sense him, or really harm him unless it was through not so direct means.

Without so much as slowing from his near twenty miles an hour run, the enhanced eyes of the gunslinger focused in on the Jedi. He was here with the other Stormtroopers, though he was a bit more of an advanced one than the rest. Not that it mattered. A single hand brought up the massive slugthrower, and three rapid shots rang out as precise as any sniper. He had gotten use to being a Kratos test subject, letting him do things no other human could do. Kage was a super soldier, force dead, and firing massive shots towards a man who was far too focused on his mentalism tricks. So far, it seemed like everything was on Kage's side.

It's a bird!

It's a plane!

Wait.

Are there even legit planes in Star Wars?

Anyways.

The heavens above were alive. Vessels, both Alliance and Order, cluttered the skies as their respective forces clashed below. There were multiple theaters on the surface of Lothal, yet only one had been specifically brought to the Exile's attention. Apparently the master of droids himself, [member="Count Morcus"], had been perceptive enough to allow his subordinates to play numerous roles. While most of his metallic horde simply faced off against the enemy, others battled whilst acting as a relay of information. This allowed one of the newest Knights of Ren to get a feel for the situation.

The cave system that housed the fabled Kyber Crystal was getting a bit crowded. Additionally, the Order's forces could use a bit of support.

As such, the former Jedi had been dispatched. He launched from one of the capital ships brought to the festivities and personally flew his own TIE fighter down to the planet below. Now, as he was the absolute definition of a novice pilot, Josiah found himself reveling in the experience. It was a tremendous change of pace, to say the absolute least, and left a feeling of exhilaration in the pit of his stomach. However, the time for enjoying the flight was swiftly coming to an end: for the cave system entrance was quickly coming into view.

And since there was no fitting place to land, the Exile had to go about it the old fashioned way.

Once over the designated "drop point", the Fighter was set to auto-pilot and promptly connected to Josiah's comm. If he needed a quick ride out, it would be in the immediate vicinity to provide one. Reaching up, he then pulled the cockpit release and exposed himself to the open air. A deep, confident breath was drawn before the Exile plunged himself into the skies and aimed for the ground below. And how did he prevent himself from becoming a handsome pile of dead upon landing?

Jetpack. Duh.

Once eased onto solid ground, the Exile removed his "wings" and made for the secondary entrance discovered by the Count's subordinates. The Force crept into his bones, seeped into his muscles, and aided him in turning his brisk run into a blinding Sprint. All that laid between the newest Knight of Ren and his target were woods...that were alive with the sounds of battle. Typically Josiah would have kept his focus entirely upon the objective at hand, that being backing up the Count as swiftly as possible, but he saw something along the way that caused him to delay.

There were numerous clashes going on. Stormies and Rebels blasting away at each other. Grenades. Yells. The whole nine. But what stuck out like a sore thumb was the struggle of a junior Ren. The Force was...alive...with his fury. It rippled across the expanse wildly, almost like a beacon that practically snatched Josiah's attention. Yet his pace did not match that anger. His movements were...slow. As if he were slashing through mud.

And his opponent just kept back-pedaling.

Well kark that.

The Exile halted at a distance of several meters, but at that range he had plenty to work with. Plenty of things to throw. The first of which was but a tree, one immediately adjacent to the junior Ren's adversary. Josiah outstretched his offhand and commanded the Force to obey, contorting the ambience into a monstrous grip that would not be denied. The tree, towering and ancient, groaned against his tug...yet the fissures appeared at an alarming rate. In mere seconds, the trunk gave way and the tree began to fall, poised to turn [member="The Dark Knight"] into a broken heap of bones.

At best, that would be the result.

But at minimum? His focus would be jarred. For a Knight to maintain a tactic such as Stasis whilst evading a saber and a falling tree would be nothing short of a miracle. If nothing else, the tactic keeping the junior at bay would be loosened slightly.

Well that had been unexpected.

His movements had been slowed, but will power drove him forward as the force dead supersoldier and a flying tree hurled but another new Knight of Ren launched their own attacks, and Varus simply halted, allowing the tree the Exile had just hurled to sail forward without getting in the path of it. Broken bones weren’t on his list of things to do today.

Instead the Dark Jedi contributed in his own way, lifting up a sizeable rock that weighed what he would guess was the metric conversion of fifty pounds and slung it at the Jedi in dark armor, however he placed it several feet behind him in hopes that when and if the Jedi jumped backwards to evade he’d catch the blow to the ribs.
With the armor he wore in all likelihood it wouldn’t do all that much as Varus was not only debilitated by the attempt of stasis which grew ever stronger, but was still a shoddy telekinetic. Varus, be it in his time as a Jedi or even now felt his skills lay in close quarters, with a blade and with his hands and not with the force. The Jedi had him outmatched here, but now Varus had him outnumbered.

But still, the rock would hurt.

It didn't make any sense, why would the force tell him to go back? Opening his eyes as his mind was swimming and he turned around, only to be faced with a mirror. Through it he could see the three possibilities, his sith self, a jedi self and the in between self as well. His sith self was just something he expected a being radiating dark power but his body was decrepit. The road in between seemed to have lost his mind in his struggle to contain both the dark and the light within himself and it was clear the dark side was still a dominant force in that form of himself. His jedi self however surprises him. A being of wisdom and gentleness he didn't realize he had in him. A healer, scholar and teacher first and foremost. Only relying on his lightsaber when there was no other option in the situation and even then he exercised moderation and genteelness though he seemed to be an accomplished duelist in his own right.
This version of himself was, well blinding to say the least. "Can this really be me?.." He said out loud to the emptiness in the cavern as he reached his hand towards his jedi self and to his amazement it shattered to reveal a small crystal, an orange one. 'Really that is what you truly wish for? To be a pacifist? A worthless healer not thinking about your own wants and needs instead only thinking of others around you? To die with nothing to your own name?!' That voice again but it was different somehow darker... angrier.
Now however the voice seemed to stem not from his mind but from behind him and as he turned his head to look he was horrified enough to recoil back away from what he saw. What he was was himself, the sith self but this one was monstrous as if he was sith spawned as well. "You do not belong with the Jedi! You Belong to ME!" the monster shouted as it reached out with its mangled arm and Derriphan was shot backwards by a force push. For a moment he had lost consciousness but when he woke he realized he was falling, falling through an emptiness without end, the cackling laughter of the monster he had seen seemingly emanating from above but it was growing fainter the farther he fell.
It felt peaceful, serene like the fall was cleansing him in some manner he didn't know he needed but he fell into it, accepted it wholeheartedly and allowed it into himself, into his very being and every fiber, molecule and cell that made him up. It took him a moment to realize it was in fact the force but on such a level that he had never felt it before, not violent or destructive but calm, collected, gentle and kind. Everything he had felt himself missing since his parents had died but also on a different scale.
He didn't understand were his thoughts were coming from or even they really were his to begin with but he had unknowingly closed his eyes and as he opened them and turned around he saw something fast approaching. He had reached the bottom. Putting his hands over his head to cover it, he moved into the fetal position and then he hit the bottom. Freezing water engulfed him and he screamed into it before he swam up to get precious air into his lungs, erupting from the waters surface with a loud gasp for air. Opening his eyes once more and wiping the water away from them he realized he was in a large cavern filled with water and a small island in it's middle were glowing fungi seemed to bathe the cavern in a luminous soft blue light.
Not thinking twice Derriphan swam to the island coming up on it's rocky shore panting and gasping for air as he let himself fall onto his back. With his chest heaving up and down he stared up into the black ceiling of the cavern, whatever was happening it was a test of some sort. He wouldn't fail he promised himself, he would become what the force had shown him, he could become. Someone he could be proud to be and a help to the galaxy. With that his eyelids began to grow a little heavy and before long they had closed, but his mind was in a flurry to process all that had happened falling into a deep meditative trance.

At the surprise squeak, Chevu jumped so high she nearly hit her head on the low-ceiling of the tunnel. It was a Loth-rat the size of a melon. Disgusting creatures. It was hard to believe that minced Loth-rat pie was a delicacy on Lothal.

"Shoo!" she admonished, waving her Woebringer at it. The vermin skittered away, in search of someone else to creep out.

As she made her way deeper into the caves, Chevu came across a skeleton in an old Imperial soldier's uniform. In its bony fingers it still gripped a Datapad. From the looks of it, it was one of those ancient Versafunction88's, and probably dead. She wondered if maybe Audrey Starchaser could help her get it working again. Two-Bit rolled up to it and whistled, panning his head back to his master quizzically.

"Yes, that's right, Two-Bit. It's a clunky old thing, isn't it?"

Still, she wondered what kind of data might be on it. Plucking it from the skeleton's hands felt like grave robbing, but the soldier had no more use for the device, so finders keepers. She dropped it in her satchel without a second thought.

Although Chevu was wearing her Nub Amulet, an artifact which hid her presence in the Force, she continued through the tunnel keeping all of her senses sharp, always scouting the ether for vestiges of the dark side. As she rounded a corner, the Mirialan felt a dim Force presence that began to grow stronger as she pressed forward. With her hand hovering over the hilt of her saberstaff, she slowly headed in its direction.
